Please can you help me ?
What qualifications would a pilot for a small airline need and what would he or she need to carry with them when flying in the way of documentation...I know passport but is there any sort of licence? Would a pilot be drug and alcohol tested at all?
Also what the dickens is the name of the actress who was in Breakfast at Tiffany's?

THEY MAY NOT BE DRUG TESTED - COMMERCIAL AIRLINE PILOTS KEEP GETTING FOUND OUT FOR BEING DRUNK OR UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF OTHER SUBSTANCES.

I am a private pilots Licence holder....
And I would expect to be randomly tested for alcohol and drugs on a regular basis if I was commercial.
Why not contact the Civil Aviation Authority for helpful advice.....

I would do that but I have to admit that it isn't because I want to be a pilot but to make a character in a short story I'm writing authentic and genuine. What you've told me has been very helpful, thank you. |

Commercial pilots licence in the UK
There is also something called an ATPL (air transport pilots licence) in the US.
So, what you need depends where you are flying
There are all sorts of licences a pilot can go for before he gets through to CPL.
He would also need training and signing off against whatever type of aircraft he is flying.
If he is, for example, trained to fly Boeing 737's, he would gave to undergo type rating training before he flew an Airbus as a commercial pilot. |
