my mum had no hot water so called a bloke registered gas fitter who came up and fixed it at a cost of £400 started making a noise so she called him back but he didn't turn up
she rang british gas who came out today for £90 and fixed it for her
turned out this cowboy she had before had fitted a part in wrong making it dangerous what would you do in her position cos he shouldn't be allowed to get away with it |

Id report him. Thought gas fitters had to be registered with Corgi. Id ask british gas for proof that it was dangerous and report it to them. The next one he does could kill someone. The money is a pain but he sounds dangerous. |

Needs to be gas safe registered even to take the cover off the boiler.
If he is registered then you can report him, if not Then trading standards.
Or even the hse |

It's not corgi anymore it's 'gas safe'.
Report him to them as well as your local trading standards. You should get the money back assuming she has proof of payment and fingers crossed he'll be struck off the register!

he should have left paperwork saying the flue gases had been analysed and the boiler had been signed off and registered.
If there is no paper trail report to gas safe |

You have to be gas safe to even take the case off the boiler
These type of tradesmen are putting people at risk to earn a small fortune and to be over charging is taking the piss to be fair |
