Is it just me thinking this or do other people think that not having a face pic on your profile deters you from getting messages ? I don't have one due to trying to stay discreet but I also think it puts you at an instant disadvantage, (I have private pics). |

I don't believe it to be a disadvantage. The overwhelming majority don't have face pictures as an avatar or in their public gallery. |

Don't assume a lack of a face pic will make any difference.
Generally it's not a lack of one that minimises interest, but what IS shown in pics and what is written in profiles.
People blame all sorts of things. Age, gender, location, sexuality - but rarely look at the two easiest things to change which also happen to be the two things people look at when browsing.
