So it's less than 2 weeks now until Bridgwater Carnival in Somerset (Google it) the biggest illuminated carnival in the world. Over 400 years old and 100,000 locals will turn out ok the night to watch it.
It really is a spectacle to behold, a 2 hour procession of big carts (floats) up to 100ft long lit up by thousands of lights and thumping music.
Really outshines and outclasses The Lord Mayors show in London as a spectacle which runs around the same time of year, yet gets nowhere near the publicity and most people outside of Somerset have never heard of it.
So what other local traditions or events would you recommend to other Fabbers that we're probably not aware of?
There must be loads out there? |
