Don't most conversations, here or anywhere else, start with a 'one liner'?.

Isn't a conversation a two way thing?.Is it a conversation you want or a CV?.

Joking apart your spot on. A first message is supposed to catch someone attention and make them want to know more about the person who messaged them.

I totally accept your point that something like "Wanna fuck?" is idiotic...anyone with any sense wouldn't send that or say it to someone off this site (a rule I would use myself...if I wouldn't say it to a stranger in a pub I wouldn't say it on here) however I was refering, more,to the automatic deleting of "Hi how's you"...and sorry realise that was the second poster not you.

If they have anything about them they will wait a few weeks and try and be more imaginative when messaging again.

It makes the difference for a bloke between 1 out of 300 messages getting a reply to 1 in 10.

At least with a short message being sent you can decide that the sender is a bell end and react accordingly in a shorter time. See, they're being considerate really.

Actually no, I've had another think and they're just bell ends.

it just the same in the real world , there you are in the pub and a bloke pops up and says "hello do you come here often"

why cant they start with there primary school education , and work there way up to what there currently doing for a living , including there voting patterns over the last 20 years , and add in a smattering about there sexuall kinky perversions

the art of conversation seems to be dead

there should be a rule on here where single guys should compose an individually crafted mail consisting of at least 5 A4 pages

and a computer proggrame to out cut and pasted messages

think of it this way.... if everyone sent the same one line message how would people every make a decision on who to meet and who not to....

I am all for conversation, I want to know a bit about the person I am interesting in!

It doesn't have to be some sort of masterpiece, but how much of someones personality can you glimmer from a one or two word answer.... ?

and as the ladies have say " the brain is the biggest sex organ you have" why not use it???

I had a classic the other day from a couple....

"you hung??"

that was it..... did i reply? no.... do i think a lot of guys would... probably, but it is up to people to find there own standard....

we are forever saying that you get out what you put in, really how much "effort" goes into a 1 line mail?

I agree with you, particularly "it's up to people to find their own standard"...but what I would say too is that there are times when people come on here just to chat and have a little break from the real world. So it shouldn't always have to be an "effort" to be here.

ive deleted 2 this morning without reading, bad girl i know but it does clearly say on my profile im not interested in anyone under 30, in fact over the last couple of weeks, the messages from youngsters seems to have increased in line with school holidays which is odd given their age

Maybe so but personally i like a well written first message, not a cv lol but a message that shows they are interested in my profile because they have read it and like my pics and after the same as me, not a one line message that really says....your a woman you'll do!!!! once they have cought my attention then im happy to add them to msn and have a conversation that becomes a two way thing

Is this not just the receiver being a bone idle sod.

Someone has taken time to message you. they have found your profile and sent a message. You complain you want more info off them about them. WHY DONT YOU READ THERE PROFILE.

Kind of pot kettle and black here isnt it lol

It would make life easier if a CV was attatched but there not.

I notcie its fellow couples and females who whine about this the most. We know we are sought after being a couple yet we would never delete a message because it didnt contain enough info. When you reply to a message do you explain everything????

Reading profiles works both ways and bitching about someone not reading yours when you havent read theres is just ignorant really.

And breath lol

It isn't only young guys! I will read a 'one liner' and check out the profile of the sender - conversely, very long messages can also put me off so they can't really win! It depends what the one liner says really - some are ok!

Getting enough info from reading profiles can be very difficult when there's very little on them, which tends to be the case from the poor messages senders.

We do however try to reply to all.

First impressions do count, when we're busy and don't have much time to be playing PM Tennis, if for example we receive two messages, one is a basic 'Hi, how's you' and the other is a little more eye catching, then it's obvious who gets the more eye catching reply back I would say.

First Impressions count anywhere.

Ostracise perhaps???

This is a swingers website not a pub or club. If Nikki & I are in a pub/club/party/social setting then "Hi how are you"? will elicit a response.

If you're sending us a message in the hope that we will view your profile and perhaps take things a little further then quite frankly the message needs to make us want to click through to your profile.

One liners and messages with no pictures are deleted, well thought out, personalised messages receive a reply (not always a favourable one but a reply all the same).

In the 30 minutes that I have been online we have received 8 messages, 2 notable ones are "Do u fancy sum cam fun" and "Your pictures look great I would love to meet you". Now I'm no expert but I would guess that the 2 young men that sent those messages were not considering the fact that, as we are a couple, they may be addressing a 6'4" 16 stone fella. Still want to cam? lol

O o O oo

These forums make me wince at times.

These type of threads are becoming as common as men starting threads asking why they don't get any replies to their mails, and yet, the reaction is totally different to what single men get.

People complain that the mens threads are whinges, but people seem to think it is different if someone wants to whinge about the men and join in

Mails.........if you don't want them, delete them.

If you don't want to get any more mails from single men, go to your message filters and click on the "single men" option, and it will block any men from mailing you.

And lastly, if someone annoys you on the forums by their posts, then ignore them.
