Hi all. I don't think I have anything to worry about as far as I'm aware. But as cancer is being presented on television tonight. Are you boys checking yourselves? Are there any blokes who've had a scare? Did you maybe think that whatever you felt was not as serious as it turned out to be? Think any information shared or stories told could save someone who doesn't realise they had a problem. Sorry to be morbid. But tears are better used in happiness. |

Yes good advice. I found a lump whilst checking 8yrs ago. Very scary! Went immediately to the doctors, and was operated on within the week. In my case it was a blood clot, but shows the importance. Of self checking. Also couldn't fault the NHS for the speed of treatment and care I received, they get slated so often |

I found it in early evening, whilst checking in the shower. I was married then and getting ready for some close friends to come over for a bite to eat with me and my wife. So once I found it, got my wife to check, and then later mentioned it to my mate and his partner and hey also checked too. Next morning I was straight at the doctors. Within at first week before the op, I had more specialists, doctors and nurses copping a feel, but it was all done speedily.
This is only my opinion, but I can't understand why anyone wouldn't go immediately, speed is of the essence, plus if your checking to keep yourself safe, then you gotta act on anything out of the ordinary. Yes of course it's petrifying, but ya gotta go asap |
