Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

Just had a knock at the door and it was a young lad passing telling me that I'd left my keys in the front door...what a star (not that there's a huge amount of opportunistic crime in Arse End, I've forgotten to lock the door on many occasions and woke up still owning all my possessions)...would passers by knock to tell you if you'd done the same?

They don't pinch stuff round here

But they do shoot each other with alarming regularity

I'd like to think my downstairs neighbour would tell me, especially since I told her last week

Although she's unlikely to be up on my floor. So, I'll expect across the way or folk above to tell me lol

Guns haven't got to Arse End as yet, we tend to just bludgeon each other with whatever comes to hand...my cats are quite adept at hiding when I answer the door just in case it's a weirdo I need to thump

Central

Left them in the door and had knocks too - great people here.

It's about time door locks were standard with car type remote locks. I've stood at the door a few times pressing it but it doesn't work yet.

Away with the fairies (Liverpool to you)

I haven't left the keys in the door yet but I have gone to work and not locked the door at all (don't tell hubby)

We have good neighbours who knock on a semi regular basis and tell him I have left the lights on in my little kittymobile which is good.....and we go next door and take whatever the old lady next door is burning on her hob into the garden so her smoke alarm stops screaming 3-4 times a year so I guess we are good neighbours too

Both our neighbours are stars, we all watch out for each other. I've had one inform me I left the front door open never mind leaving keys in it

He pulled it shut for me after I'd left for work.

Yes my neighbours would , both sides are lovely and the one side , we are really good friends . She's been my saviour on many occasions plus fallen over my garden wall after one too many wines! The other side , they're elderly and are always taking in my parcels , sending me veggies from their allotment and look out for us. They always bring my bin in too. Good neighbours are worth their weight in gold. I'm lucky here.

My neighbours alarm was going off,on investigation I found their back door open.

I secured the house and left, but only after stealing a piece of quiche that was cooling in the kitchen.

I couldn't help myself,it was too tempting.

She baked me a full one,the day after as a thankyou.

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Yes, mine would. A lot of us have each others keys anyway, just in case we get locked out.

I've done that: knocked on a neighbours door to tell them they'd left their keys in the door and neighbours have knocked on ours when himself left his car lights on.

I had a young lad knock on the door last week and give me the usb memory stick I had accidentally dropped out my laptop bag. Really does prove that there are some decent people out there. Also that some parents are actually raising their children in the correct manner x

P.O. Box DE1 0NQ

Never seen or left keys in a door, but had to tell a neighbor once that he had left his car door wide open
