An university student said she giving her girlfriend a ‘light kiss’ when she was approached by a Sainsbury’s security guard who allegedly asked her to stop what she was doing and leave the Brighton supermarket.
Yesterday.....
In response hundreds of protesters descended on the store to kiss one another in solidarity with Ms Paige and her girlfriend.
Hundreds of couples stood side-by-side while locked in passionate embraces across the shop floor, rallied by the #BigKissIn hashtag on Twitter.
A couple wearing wedding outfits could even be seen locking lips as part of the demonstration.
In light of the kiss-in Sainsbury’s has issued an apology for the incident and offered to donate money to a charity of Ms Paige’s choice.
A spokesperson for the supermarket said: ‘It is clear that Miss Paige and her partner were not behaving inappropriately and we are very sorry that they were treated in this way.’

Personally, I'm not a fan of other people (ff mm mf) kissing infront of me. Just makes me feel awkward. |

Good for them. My partner and I were once just kissing, sat side by side (no tongues or hands!)
in a pub and were asked to leave.
So we did, and sat in his open top car right outside and had a proper full on snog!

The report I read said a woman had approached the security guard and complained, asking the guard to 'sort it out'. The female security guard spoke to the couple but also apologised saying she was also lesbian. |
