She said she felt something "pop" in her head followed by intense migraine like pain.

She lost all feeling down her left side and fell over, and couldn't get up.

She's had a brain scan at hospital and luckily she's recovered some of the feeling but can't stand unaided.

Docs say it's a "mini stroke" and expect big improvement in next 24hrs.

She's only 50

I an very shocked and sorry to hear this Jack.

Someone close to me is recovering from stroke, I know how frightening this must be for you.

Best wishes to Kate and the stroke services and stroke outreach teams are excellent.

If its a TIA then the weakness will recover quickly. A TIA is often a warning sign of stroke so the positive is she's going to be monitored and put on medication and hopefully she will have no further attacks.

Many people see stroke as an old persons illness, on the ward with my family member (who is 48 and had with an hemorrhage stroke and an Ischaemic stroke) was a 32 year old man and a 22 year old woman.

Ill be thinking of you both x

"She said she felt something "pop" in her head followed by intense migraine like pain.

She lost all feeling down her left side and fell over, and couldn't get up.

She's had a brain scan at hospital and luckily she's recovered some of the feeling but can't stand unaided.

Docs say it's a "mini stroke" and expect big improvement in next 24hrs.

She's only 50 "

A friend had a mini stroke at 40 years old. You could see a difference in him,for maybe 3 months after. Within much less than 12 months he was back to being totally himself,a complete annoying prick.

Sure she'll be fine and will make a full recovery in time.

Good luck to you both.
