She said she felt something "pop" in her head followed by intense migraine like pain.
She lost all feeling down her left side and fell over, and couldn't get up.
She's had a brain scan at hospital and luckily she's recovered some of the feeling but can't stand unaided.
Docs say it's a "mini stroke" and expect big improvement in next 24hrs.
She's only 50 |

The exact same thing happened to me when I was 32 and again when I was 35 due to working far to much with 3 jobs and being stressed and not eating healthy , I had loads of physiotherapy and speechtherapy and im 99% back to normal now . what ive learned is to listen to my body rest well and give yourself time to heal and recovery my thoughts are with you and your family as it is a very big scary and frightening experience for all involved xx |

I an very shocked and sorry to hear this Jack.
Someone close to me is recovering from stroke, I know how frightening this must be for you.
Best wishes to Kate and the stroke services and stroke outreach teams are excellent.
If its a TIA then the weakness will recover quickly. A TIA is often a warning sign of stroke so the positive is she's going to be monitored and put on medication and hopefully she will have no further attacks.
Many people see stroke as an old persons illness, on the ward with my family member (who is 48 and had with an hemorrhage stroke and an Ischaemic stroke) was a 32 year old man and a 22 year old woman.
Ill be thinking of you both x |

"She said she felt something "pop" in her head followed by intense migraine like pain.
She lost all feeling down her left side and fell over, and couldn't get up.
She's had a brain scan at hospital and luckily she's recovered some of the feeling but can't stand unaided.
Docs say it's a "mini stroke" and expect big improvement in next 24hrs.
She's only 50 "
A friend had a mini stroke at 40 years old. You could see a difference in him,for maybe 3 months after. Within much less than 12 months he was back to being totally himself,a complete annoying prick.
Sure she'll be fine and will make a full recovery in time.
Good luck to you both. |
