"Maybe its just a normal sized star but a man measures it with a cock ruler!
What the Sky remote?"
Well i am beginning to wonder if they are 24 inches long after all the measuring on here. The star might just be that bit bigger than norm. But is it WE or a VWE star? |

There we go again, reducing legitimate scientific observations to "gutter" level.

Stellar mass and size is complicated (hence my little lecture, that and I am bored). The new star is both massive (as in it has a lot of stuff, or mass in it) and also covers a large volume (ie it has a large diamiter).
Black holes are massive (ie they have a lot of mass) but aren't very big because all the mass is compressed into a small space.
A Red Giant star (which is what our sun will eventualy develop into after about another 5-6 billion years or so) is not very massive because it doesn't have much stuff in it, but it will be big because it won't be very dense.
The new star is both masive and big (High mass, large volume). It has only recently been found because it is a long way away and, generaly, the further away from us a star is, the more sensitive the detection equipment needs to be. |

The largest known star is the VY Canis Majoris, which has been estimated to be somewhere between 1800 - 2100 Solar Radii (1 Solar Radii = 1 x Our Sun)
Our tinsy little rock is 1,000 times smaller than our own Sun so the Canis thingy is just, well, pretty goddarn big.
But to give you a clue, here's the maths:
Sun = 432,450 miles
Canis Majoris = 9,081,555,000 miles
Earth = 92,955,887 miles from the Sun, so unless you're wearing Factor 2,000,000 I suggest you stear clear of Canis Majoris by about a billion miles give or take 100,000,000, else you're likely to get pretty frazzled and miss the Beach Party. |

I'm not fooking surprised! Nature, in her ultimate wisdom, decided to hide the organ that brings a woman the most amount of pleasure in a place where no fooker can find it. Women can be so bitchy to each other sometimes. |
