Too Hot To Sleep by Survivor has been in heavy rotation recently. Proper 80's rock and not a single bad cut on that album.

Oh dear.

Being a total pop-phobic, I'm afraid my music lists would tend towards the less popular genres of Classical, Trad Jazz and Folk and i'm afraid some might find them a tad boring.

Also, how does one define their "favourite piece of music?" Surely a lot of what you want to listen to depends on your mood at the time and a single playlist of favourite pieces would fall well short.

For that "Feet up, eyes closed and sipping a glass of Laphroig" moment a lot of composers would fit the bill:-

A lot of Ralph Vaughn-Williams, esp. Lark Ascending and Rhapsody on the theme of Thomas Tallis;

George Butterworth's Banks of Green Willow;

A lot of Bach and Beethoven;

Some Mozart;

Shostakovich's Symphonies;

Max Bruch's Violin concerto and Scottish Fantasia;

Bruckner;

Sibelius;

Gerald Finzi, a sadly much neglected composer who left a fine body of choral works that are only now becoming better known.

And I could, at the risk of boring the reader further, go on.
