We found this on the BBC Surrey News Website 19-07-10, and thought it may be of interest...When we drove past the Hogs Back on Friday evening there were police vehicles in there then:-

Anger over sex site near Puttenham village in Surrey

Villagers want a lay-by leading to a Surrey beauty spot closed because it has become a popular place for adults to meet for outdoor sex.

About 300 people have signed a petition calling for the closure of the A31 lay-by to restrict access to Hogs Back.

Villagers in nearby Puttenham said the fields were used "for all sorts of sexual activity", even during the day.

Surrey County Council said it had installed CCTV and was working with police to tackle the problem.

A spokeswoman said one option was to restrict access for motorists by closing the lay-by, but doing so could damage the trade of a nearby cafe.

The villagers' campaign is being supported by Anne Milton, the Conservative MP for Guildford.

Same kinda stuff goin on up here, police notice's pinned to trees and fences;, 'Police are patrolling the area'..

Our view is, if stuff is goin on between consenting adults and there is no problems, let them get on with it, go and arrest some thugs

I think you will find that the 'activities' are going on in broad daylight, the thing is it's not only doggers that use these places and surely the public have a legal right not to be exposed to blokes walking around with their cocks out?

It's always the same with dogging venues, the internet has meant these places get too well known and before you know it they go from late night play areas to 24 hour venues.

In many cases these 'venues' are public lay by's and rest areas for motorists....now stop and imagine that at this time of the year these same lay by's are often full of families with children stopping for a rest on a long drive to their holidays.....and now perhaps you get the jist of the problem facing the councils, highways agency and the police?

Absolutely Jane, I couldn't agree more. I've never quite got the point of dogging anyway and I'm not condemning it, but I do think it's proponents don't think about the impact they are having on whichever local community in which they select to go and carry out their activities. The only thing that concerns them is getting their rocks of regardless of any decency laws and/or local businesses that may suffer as a result of it.

The locals in question in this instance have every right to protect their community from something they regard as seedy, unwholesome and unwanted on their doorsteps.
