Some couples and single ladies complain that people don't read or can't be bothered to read there profiles..

I don't want to read a profile on bullshit thats as long as a novel. Keep it simple and keep it short then people will read them

From experience, doesn't matter whether it is long or short, some people read them - some don't.

Mine is long, but I'd rather give someone an idea of my personality as thats an important part of getting into my knickers!

Shorter, upbeat profiles without lists of rules attract me more, but there are longer ones that I think do the job well too.

Ranty or negative profiles are a major turn-off.

I get a stupid amount of messages related to mine, which is nice. I do hate it when they misread "squint" as "squirt" though.

I find really, really short profiles tend to put me off, much for the same reasons that women and couples get put off by male profiles that clearly demonstrate a lack of effort.

I like to know a little something about someone in order that I can decide on whether or not i'd like to meet them.

Physical attraction is one thing, but it's just as important to know if you're likely to 'click' with someone sexually.

I've sent so many messages designed to show I have read a profile, more often than not they are read and deleted immediately.

But I must admit, if I have to scroll the page to find the bottom I lose interest quick and don't bother with a message, most of the long ones are rants

I enjoy reading profiles, they say something about the owner that images often can't.

But, I do stop and move on if the beginning is a ranty list of do's and don'ts of someone who has obviously had a bad day!

The point of reading a profile is to filter out those who don't want the same as you.

I always read them before I message.

Clearly others don't, just had another message today asking me for a daytime meet! I can't make it any clearer...

I think people read profiles more than we think. When I had just a dot as profile text I still got a fair amount of mail. Since I updated it... none....

Thank you for that Useful piece of information, Without your Insight into what people should and should not be doing with their profiles we would continue to only meet people with the same interests/Humour as us, I shall now be deleting the lot and replace it with something short and to the point.
