Disappearing pic

Someone sent me a pic attached to a message , when I checked the message again the next day the pic has gone . How does that happen , am I missing something , lol Is there a self destruct setting for pics sent . Can anyone explain this ?

It means they have removed it.

I understand if they delete it from their gallery, it also disappears from any messages they've attached it to
