The annual mop fair that we always travel to has arrived for 2 days.
My favourite things are the waltzers, umbrellas and toffee apples. They will never ever get me on the Ferris Wheel again though!
What are your memories or do you still love at the fair? |

You're right - Mr Brock was a goner with the first swing of the hammer. Your fish however had a looooong and paaaainful death in the sewer.
Which leads us only to one conclusion. My dad is a swift, efficient and ruthless killer. Your mum prefers torture and a drawn out demise. |

I used to love travelling fairs as a child, the skankier the better.
But now as an adult I can't help standing there tutting and shaking my head at the shoddy construction of the rides and scant regard for health and safety. |

I stopped going on dodgems/number cars when they stopped letting you drive into eachother!
Friggin health and safety gone mad - and I've yet to see one of those annoying twats you see in shopping centres jumping on folk as they climb off the ride touting for whiplash claims!
Meh!

"I once bought a giant candy dummy off Brighton Pier and used it as a dildo on a sweet lady
I don't like fair rides anymore but used to like the rockets when I was about 7 lol"
I dropped about £8.00 in change through the gaps on the floor of that bloody pier... Still irks me now
And to the OP... Yes I love the fair. I'm a monkey for the twisters.. And the smell of fairs oh I love! |

That reminded me when my mum flushed our Catfish down the toilet In the late Sixties at home If he/she survived the Journey to the river that would be one big Catfish now

Get a few nuts & bolts, then go to the ride operator and say "Have these fell off your ride?" |

Actually, Hull Fair os the largest of its type currently in the UK. A lot of the rides you will see at other UK fairs will have originated at Hull Fair. The setting up of the fair takes 2-3 weeks, lasts 8 days, and, attracts 500,000 visitors. It is also the oldest fair in the UK too. |
