Hi.. just wondered if there is a way to write something sarcastic for people to recognise you mean it sarcastically? Ie when you want to SHOUT you use capital letters. Think sometimes our sarcasm gets interpreted as rude sometimes x |

I have the same problem to at times and where we have been having a light and humorous chat then the tables turn where something has been interpreted differently to how it was meant to come across. I now try to save my sarcasm for face to face meets and when you deliver it with a smile it makes life so much easier. |

"My granny always said sarcasm is the lowest form of wit! "
Yeah it can be but boy you can have some proper belly laughs through it.. Its like laughing when a mate trips or hurts themselves. You know you shouldn't do it but you it anyway and then you check to see if they are ok as you wipe the tears away.. |

If people are being sarcastic its usually pretty obvious people do it on here all the time. |

Someone once designed a punctuation mark for irony/sarcasm. From Wikipedia -
"The irony point (French: point d’ironie) was proposed by the French poet Alcanter de Brahm (alias Marcel Bernhardt) in his 1899 book L'ostensoir des ironies to indicate that a sentence should be understood at a second level (irony, sarcasm, etc.). It is illustrated by a glyph resembling but not identical to a small, elevated, backward-facing question mark." |

"There was a sarcastic clique on here but it disbanded when a prominent member went UNLOS "
Maybe that was a good thing? There can be some quite nasty comments at times |

Sarcasm can be quite fun, if it isn't the sole thing in a personality or their communication repertoire.
It may be the lowest form of wit, but at times, it can be the highest form of intelligence.
At other times, its crap if someone is mocking everything for no reason, other than sounding like Kevin The Teenager... lol |

"It's a difficult one to pull off in written form, it usually ends being misconstrued.

True. Some guys know that I'm being sarcastic on my profile but mostly think that I'm serious when I say that Romeo and Juliet are the greatest couple in the world or I want to make babies like rabbits. |
