Absolutely horrendous and will be a small miracle if he survives, looked far worse than Sennas fatal crash.
Having seen the footage that's on liveleaks from a camera in the crowd it's understandable why the official cameras and the commentators didn't really pick up on it. He vanished under the tractor and through a gap in the barriers.
If you step through it there's also one very lucky marshal who nearly gets trapped between the tractor and the barrier as Bianchis car lifts it and swings it around. |

The safety car was in at that point and they're saying he didnt slow down as much as the other, but was there yellow flags waving at the time he came round that corner? |

First and formast I hope Jules pulls through.
Having seen the footage of the crash, it seems incredable that he even slightly survived.
Yes the media have been playing down this accident and correctly so. Ok so some people feel like there is a cover up taking place, but if the full footage was all over the media it would feel even worse and those same people would be screeming that the media is sensationalising the event.
At the end of the day, a tragic accident occured which resulted in a young man fighting for his life and his family and friends worrying and hopeing he wins that battle.

If anyone believes in fate, this footage is proof that fate is a twisted fucker.
Seconds earlier and the JCB wouldn't have reversed as far... he'd have walked away.
A few feet to the right, he'd have bounced off the padded barrier... and quite possibly walked away. |

Suzuka is a dangerous circuit anyway. What got me was the fact that even at the end of the race (I watched the rerun so haven't seen the actual footage of the crash and I'm not sure I want to) and the commentators on the BBC were still saying it was an incident involving Adrian Sutil, they didn't seem to know what had happened. Suzi Perry's face at the beginning and end of the program was of shock and worry. Fingers crossed he recovers fully. |

The "official" footage as shown on Sky & BBC (as well as globally) didn't show the Bianchi crash and the commentators weren't even aware that there had been a second incident as they work from the same footage.
The camera angles being used meant Bianchis car couldn't be seen. The footage that has emerged since is from a spectator who was filming from the crowd |

"Just a bit!
I saw the footage of the crash and he's lucky to still have a head!
I'm amazed his crash helmet was still in one piece." They say it was a heavy glancing blow it doesn't bode well for the inertia of the impact or the neck damage. On the positive medical teams were there in an instant not like 30 years ago so fingers crossed he recovers. |
