Are we being thick? Seen this on many profiles & sometimes continuing with multiple amps. Have no idea what this means, anybody help please?

Exact;y this - the symbol is called an ampersand so for some reason the site translates it as amp.

That's right. It's called an ampersand which is why the first three letters of the word sometimes appear when it's typed on certain phones or devices.

No idea why

Next time you see amp on a profile, message them and tell them to turn it upto 11.

It's due to the lack of add / strip slashes in the program code
