Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

A Swedish couple have just had the first womb transplant baby.

The thing I found amazing about the story was the womb was donated by a friend who had been through the menopause.

It seems a game changer for people wanting children. It also shows how far medicine has come it a short time.

I know! Transplant surgery seems to know no bounds at the moment.

That's such a brilliant leap forward. Amazing story and gives hope to others who didn't have it before , to have a child of their own.

Staines

It is incredible and it's nice to read happy stories.

I must confess though - I woke up fuzzy headed and blurry eyed and thought the thread title said "Womble transplant"!

I remember Louise Brown being the first test tube baby and the creation of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Commission, as was.

I wonder how far we are from artificial wombs being developed for implant?
