Once again, they are proving their religious philosophy of "peace and love" - let us drop some "cuddle bombs" on them, send some troops to give them some "peace and love" too.
We used to have a death cult like theirs.
They were called The Vikings.
But we all grew up and put away such childish things. |

Slaughter of an innocent aid worker. I'm not sure how that can rally support for their cause but the sad thing is though that the fanatics and followers will rejoice.
The world is fucked. Truly. |

True - I wasn't condemning the religion - I was condemning ISIS. Not all Vikings were axe wielding psychopaths either - they were skilled trades people and excellent mariners... Argue with them over semantics, however, and you might just lose your head... |

This just illustrates how sad and pathetic they really are. Like all extremists they will be defeated, sadly innocent people will always perish.
Leave it up to the experts to sort it, they will get them eventually.

The world is fucked. Truly." they do not want to rally support to their cause they want to provoke us ( the western powers ) into a ground war with the intent of starting a muslim v christian war that can only end in our annihilation and their victory these people cannot be reasoned with and cannot be appeased they have one ideal and that is the total annihilation of anyone who does not adhere to there way of life the only thing they respect is strength and then they will continue to fight against it until they are dead or victorious . collateral damage is a cost worth taking for them as its costs them nothing in fighting strength and serves only as a propaganda tool against us and our sensitivity's the only way to defeat them will be all out total war and untill the people in charge realise this they will continue to prevail |

Remember that IS released two videos today... The one of Alan henning and another one of a British jahadi goading western allies to put forces on the ground....
They want people to feel vengeful enough to say "fuck it!" And want people to go in...
Where all the other people had some tie to government...Alan Henning didn't, he just went out to help people... When you get the like of Al-quieda saying he should have been released tells you how extreme IS is..
This one will be felt in the uk, the U.S.greatly...
The next one shown is an American again...I don have much faith for him as he was a former soldier in Iraq
Pressure is going to increase on Saudi, turkey, Qatar and others in the region to do more...

The dirty tricks of war whether in your face or subtle are never palatable, however my feelings on this are not negotiable, IS and all they stand for are inhumane, sub human and not acceptable to a peaceful planet.
Therefore measures must be taken to protect our humanity, unfortunately those measures may go against the grain of our existence
RIP Alan Henning my thoughts go to your family. |

Videos like that tend to have a point of reference in order to show the people they're threatening that it is a current video. The UK and the U.S. have a strict policy not to negotiate with terrorists under any costs. If IS weren't able to show they had hostages alive at a certain point in time, they would simply bomb the shit out of them, which is was IS are trying to stop by holding hostages in the first place. It makes no sense from their point of _iew to just kill them all. |

I would feel very uncomfortable being a Muslim now in this country with so many loons ready to do their cowardly attacks too.
I was just listening to R5 Live and a couple of Muslims who spoke where absolutely horrified as they also mentioned that the fact Mr Hemming was delivering aid, was a more Muslim behaviour than the cowards who kidnapped and beheaded him. |

We support Iraq in the fight against Islamic state. We don't like IS but Saudi Arabia do, and we like them.
We don't like Assad in Syria. We support fighting against him, which IS also are doing.
We don't like Iran, but they support Iraq against IS.
So some of our fiends support our enemies and some of our enemies are our friends and fighting against our other enemies who we want to lose BUT we don't want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win.
If people we want to defeat are defeated we might be left with people we like less.
This was all started by the UK going in to relieve us of terrorists who weren't actually there - until we we in to remove them.
Not claiming that as my own assessment but it certainly captures what's going on. That's about it in a nutshell.
A huge vote winning fuck up for 2015. Humanitarian support is all we should be doing there. This is a war we cannot and will not win without great loss on the UK side and civilian casualties on their side. Neither are right.

As soon as we started the air strikes, this was a foregone conclusion. My heart goes out to his family, he appears to be a totally selfless man, just trying to help people less fortunate then himself. However the people that did this cannot be bargained with, they cannot see any other point but their own and this will not be the last pointless death.

The more I hear about Alan henning the more I see the word "hero" is one that should be given to him...
The extra raising of money for aid for Syria by washing cars in his spare time, the fact this was his 4th trip, volunteer, aid worker, Good Samaritan...
The fact that he was actually found innocent of spying in a shariah court, and they acknowledged he was there was humanitarian reasons...
Doing good and trying to help the people of Syria, he even had "help for syria" tattooed on his arm...
This is one that has gotten worldwide attention.. Watching the American news channels and it is wall to wall... And glowing obituaries about him...
If anyone deserves a big celebration of his life it is him...
This one may backfire...
Rip a good man.... An individual who instead of sitting on his backside went out and did as much good as he could |

It's not backfiring Fabio, it's exactly what they want. Not belittling hemming. He's a star make no mistake. Yes a true hero for the position he put himself in.
He is also a real person, someone we all relate to, be it in press, media or personally. These people want to ignite that deep personal feeling. That then fuels out war, which then fuels their peoples war against us for attacking them. It's a horrible circle pit of deceit and big money deals. Like the 'hefty price we paid for Afghanistan' this and the previous Iraq war is no different. There are no winners here. |

"My only fear now is some idiot knuckle dragger will go out and do something equally idiotic against the Muslim community in this country as a "reprisal" "
I would say this is more than likely: the Lee Rigby killing, the Rochdale scandal and now the recent murders of the two British aid workers will give fuel to many extremist groups. Muslims in Britain must feel quite nervous at the moment. The stronger Muslim groups come out against IS, the better, I would suggest. That is a message that can only help |

I know alot of regiments have been put on high alert. so that may mean ground troops will be going in.
the main issue with sending in any kind of retaliation against a organisation such as IS is that they have very little money very few weapons and not a whole lot of "troops". so how do they retaliate against country's such as the US and the UK? well they use there love for terror and attack the civilians of the above country's.
so the only real option in my _iew is if they are sending troops in they have to hit very hard very fast and be sure there will be no retaliation. |

How many times was he warned of the dangers of going out to help?? Obviously the only ones in the wrong are the IS but before anyone jumps on the bandwagon of how harsh this sounds get yourself over there and try and help |

"I've seen 3 comments on Facebook saying they should spread Ebola over there and guess what 3 people are now off my friends list....I don't understand how by stopping down to the IS level will solve any of this "bloody" mess. "
thing is whilst I share your dismay at some who think along those lines I wouldn't be surprised that in some 'think tank' in some countries such thoughts are commonplace as a means to 'resolve' a situation.. |

i guess that just goes to show that some people are better than us and some will put helping others before their own safety |

They are well funded and organised the longer we leave them the stronger they will get, But am sure the people at the top are working on how to stop them |

yep one would think so but the recent evidence for the West's solution to issue's in that region don't exactly give confidence.. |

I totally agree with you I'm sure it's been spoken about while a few whiskey have been poured. I don't know what the solution is but I can only hope that some bright spark will think of one soon. |

not sure I agree, he had been there 3 times and had come home safe after helping others in a situation thankfully beyond most of our comprehension..
and something went wrong on his last trip clearly which his family will be haunted by but you could equally apply your logic to thousands of other folks who work everyday in professions where there is risk to themselves for the benefit of others..
someone has to do those jobs and they also have families and loved ones.. |

Send in the helicopter gunships to every known position and follow up with troops to mop up any survivors.
There is no reasoning or negotiating with these people so it has to be a shoot on sight policy (which I believe is already the case).
Only a full scale operation to target them all at once will have any hope of disrupting their organisation and stop further recruitment. |

Just rethought my post and whilst it was stupi/tongue in cheek, an extreme answer is required to deAl with the IS. How's about we go over there, install the fastest fibre broadband and let em have fabs to play on? They'd be too disrupted to do anything else. |

I would argue that it's below the IS level. It does though highlight that extremism exists on both sides.
Extremists are the problem here. We need to take the lead on dealing with ours even when it comes to ridiculing extreme _iews on a swingers forum. The Arab world must be seen to take the lead on ridiculing it's extremists.
IS are winning the prooganda war for far too many in the Arabian peninsular. The tragic slaughter of Alan Henning cannot be justified by any authentic Muslim teaching. It is specifically un Islamic.
Jordan, UAE, Iran and others need to be seen as leading the fight against their own extremists and IS in both word and deed.
Until the average man living in Jordan who just happens to be an IS sympathiser is personally apalled by what has happened to an innocent aid worker and starts to stand up to 'his extremists' and ridicule them, IS will prosper.
My challenge to all of you, is to guard against 'our extremism', stand up to and challenge it wherever it raises it's head. Whether that be Fab, facebook or down the pub. |

i agree, on that logic you could say every firefighter who go into a burning building knows the risks and are putting others before their family
he did something I would never have the balls to do and I think that makes him a better person than me |

There is extreme _iews on both sides but as long as the vast majority in this country are appalled by the depravity of IS then we will prevail history proves this .If we sink to their level we will lose the support of the Muslim community in this country and that could be dangerous |

"Extremism both sides??
Nor sure the last time I watched a christian blow up a plane or cut someone's head off..."
The passenger plane recently shot down over the Ukraine was most likely not shot down by Muslims. Are you suggesting Christians have never committed beheadings?
I have never seen a Muslim drop a nuke on a populated city.
We really need to work towards not seeing this as Muslim v Christianity, the problem here is extremism and extremism needs to be eventually beaten by it's own side. There are extremists on both sides. We are doing a better job of controlling ours, but we need to remain vigilant. |

Of course there are extremists on both sides as there are in any society, religion or colour.
Let me know when your local vicar starts preaching hatred and tries to introduce a law that puts women as 2nd class citizens. .. There is absolutely no comparison

Have you heard of Reverend Robert West? Member of the BNP. Just ask any women who aspires to being a cardinal whether or not she feels like a second class citizen, that church law is already in place.
There can be comparisons, the key for both sides is to manage their extremists.
We have more control of ours, but we still have them.
I am in no way trying to play down the horror that is IS, but this is more complicated than the old Christian v Muslim saga. |
