Now I'm very skeptical when it comes to such things, but last night when going to bed, I was stood at the foot of the stairs and as I looked up about to climb then, I saw.... well, not sure what it was but it moved from the top of the stairs to across the landing, the landing light was on, there was no other lights on, I could definitely make out a head and shoulder but that was it, well thats what it looked like, it wasn't a shadow as such but light, there was no way it could have been a light from outside giving the position of the window on the landing, so what ever this was and I don't wanna say ghost, freaked me out a bit, anyone else had a similar experience when you thought you've seen something that, well, could have been a ghost but you just don't know?

it's not the loft conversion falling apart is it mally??

Not a believer in ghosts, but, once had a similar experience hammering down the A420 on night in Oxfordshire on the way to do an on call sleep in at work.

A figure in an overcoat and a hat just stepped out from the side of the road. Slammed brakes on but the "man" just vanished

There is a famous Ghost in your neck of the Woods Mate, apparently it's a lost Pilot trying to get Home, as you left the Landing Light on he may have gotten confused

had a lot of experiences when i was growing up in a really old house. the toilet used to flush on its own. my hubby saw a shadow of a man on the wall. i have led in bed and felt the bed move and a massive weight on top of me and then get off quickly again, um..... i never went into my mums bedroom as if i did i went freezing cold and had to run for my life out of there, i used to come in and hear the radio upstairs, so go upstairs to turn it off and it wasn't even turned on!!!... needless to say i was not sad to leave that house!!

some say when a ghost sits on your bed and it feels like a massive weight is on you then the ghost is trying to have sex with you!! so maybe i should of embraced that feeling instead of running out the room screaming!!

Ditto!

I'm very open minded about these things. Well, most things actually but that's another story. I'd definately be up for a bit of ghost hunting and have always wanted to stay in one of those really haunted houses.

That's because you had started your "sleep in" early, like when you were driving.

My parents' house is haunted, I end up shouting and swearing at whoever is running about, slamming doors, and generally making a racket when I'm upstairs in the office trying to work, it drives me up the wall. I've had missing items, one thing in particular that was subject to a major family fingertip search of the house, literally drop out of fresh air right next to me, weeks later. That and the "lady with the white hair" my niece used to ask about when she was a toddler, and double pole switches that mysteriously switch themselves on when they have been definitely switched off, that house is like Picadilly fucking Circus. The top light in the loft conversion (the office) is ALWAYS on, no matter how positive we are that it is left off (and there are 3 sparkies in the family, and there's nowt wrong with the wiring). Coming back to a darkened house and seeing that top light on, hours after you left the house in darkness, is like having the piss taken out of you.

I just tell "them" to piss off back to their own dimension, they are frightening me, and it seems to quieten down for a bit.

Our dogs usually just plop in the back yard before they go into their basket

But on the subject of spooks ...a few years ago now, I was working in an old building in Ashington - nothing remarkable about it, built around 1890 as a house then converted into a shop then a shop with a flat above - you know the kind of thing, but when I was dismantling the place, I had an old arm chair in which I'd sit and have a cuppa or eat my lunch, several times when sitting in that chair I thought I saw something out of the very extreme edge of my vision - something appeared to move behind me but I could not describe what it was. I had cables hanging out of the ceiling and all manner of debris lying around the place and just put it down to some of that wafting in a draught, the only thing which puzzled me was the fact that it always appeared to move from my left to my right.

Days went on and nothing remarkable happened until we eventually began to rip the old wood cladding from the walls, eventually revealing a door and a window which had been bricked up from the outside then rendered, thus was "invisible" but the frame was still in situ behind this age old cladding.

That is the very place where I'd sensed this strange movement ..

Never did see it again neither did we ever find out what / who it was
