Gotta admit I would say it would be most males fantasy at that age for that to happen (as a hormonal teen I would have been cock a hoop) but it does show up the double standards I guess.
If it was 2 male teachers and a 16yo girl we'd all be horrified - as it's a male student and female teachers we're all thinking how awesome that would be if it was us! Standing back though it is wholly inappropriate and an abuse of trust.

He did tell his friends, the two teachers were the talk of the school (which is how the police heard) they had had 3somes with other pupils and filmed it. In that American state the age of consent is 17 and the boy was 16. One of the teachers was 32 double his age. |

This story does not come has a surprise to me. I worked in a school a couple of years back and the boundaries were very blurred between some of the 6th formas and newlyqualified young teachers. Ie befriending on Facebook, attending social events together.  |

Teachers have a duty of care towards their students. Most of us became sexually active in our teens and had crushes on our teachers. It's the teachers moral duty not to take advantage of our sexual curiosity. |

To be honest condemn me or not, if my son came home laughing about it, I would pat him on the back, if it was my daughter, I wouldn't be impressed, do we treat our sons and daughters differently?
I would not call the police if my children had not given consent, and gave me their word on that, but no one seems to know why they were called yet, I have not checked the news myself at the moment.

indeed, women get away with it more easily because boys are seen as being more willing than girls to consent to sex while underage, but why is that the perception? as I said earlier, girls mature faster than boys, don't they? so how come they aren't capable of consenting to sex at that age but boys are? as a shy adolescent I was actually intimidated by the idea of sex and was a late developer, so perhaps the same goes for the male victim in this particular case and is why he went to the police...but yes, regardless of how the boy or girl feels about the situation there is a clear legal boundary that when crossed should be treated equally for perpetrators both male and female...you never hear the feminists screeching and whining for more equality in these type of cases do you? |

yes, my own daughter coming on 15 but thinks the same as an eighteen year old ( or so she thinks) if she was that way inclined looking at her could get an older boy in trouble, they say girls are three years above the mental age of a boy her own age.

the facts of how the police were involved are irrelevant. The teachers broke the law, abused their position of responsibility and neglected their duty of care - its of no consequence whether he enjoyed the encounter. |

I am confused by your posts. Why is telling his friends "the right thing"?
Some young men feel as pressurised as some young women to become sexually active before they are mentally ready for this. We need to stop thinking in gender stereotypes and think about the actions and the effect on that individual.
We are now living in a sexualised culture and I do worry about the effect this is having on young people.

I worry that there are still some who think that abuse of a minor is ok if its in the situation as reported..
now yes he is 16 and not a child, however the law is clear on this and its exactly the same type of law that protects younger people from predatory paedophiles..

My son is just approaching the age of the teenager in question. I would be horrified to think his teachers might breach the trust placed in them. I find the idea that this could be condoned in any way abhorrent. |

If it were two blokes doing that with a female student, what would you label them? Although the word "feminism" has recently become a bit more synonymous with "man-hating", all feminists are really after is gender equality and bringing down the barriers between men and women. This should mean that all the negatives that women are subjected to (e.g. Domestic abuse & paedophilia) should also be treated in the same way towards men who are subjected to this kind of thing. Just because it's a sixteen year old guy who's slept with two women (the fact that some people think they're attractive is entirely subjective and should never be brought into the equation in the first place) makes absolutely no difference. Punish them in exactly the same way you would punish a man. Strip them of their jobs, never let them work with children- and you are still a child at sixteen- again and put them in prison for the crime they committed. |

That's all well & good but don't you get it, what your music teacher did was completely unethical. They have a duty of care towards their students which we as parents have to trust they will uphold at all times.
Let me ask you this, wouldn't your parents have been appalled had they known a teacher who they trusted, was having sex with a pupil, their son...?!

However, with the current finding of how dark and sick human society is going with pedophile gangs, one has to consider where these teachers would draw the line. If was just a "mrs robinson" event then it's ok. But the educated teacher knowing it's illegal in that state and an act that took organised participation? Very concerning.

I don't think it's OK to make it a Mrs Robinson event. If they like younger men (men, not boys) you wait until a) you ate not in loco parentis and b) they are of legal age.
To operate as a couple and to target those in your care speaks of abuse to me - however willing the 'victim' at the time there is no telling now how he will feel about it as he matures.

Where I work the staff are too busy shagging each other!
I have been form tutor to several classes of 16 year olds and always made it clear that if they cant ask their parents anything, they can ask me - I have had a 15 year old come to me an tell me he got it together with a 14 year old girl, worried about police, kept the boys behind and told them how important it is that girls are sober enough to give consent (classroom gossip about some wild party the weekend before)
The moral welfare of these children is extremely important to me, they think they are adults but need to be in a safe environment at school |
