The land of grey peas and bacon

I've had a proper horrible chest infection and other things but I can honestly say I've never had fully blown flu

I've had flu once - couldn't walk, running fever but feeling cold, muscle cramps, aching bones, semi delirious, totally bed riiden (or was that last bit on a play date? :D )

Most people say they have flu when it's just a cold. If you have the flu you'd really know about it.

Apart from all the usual vit C, hot drinks etc, if I have a cold and feel crap, I get some Boots own brand decongestant. They have psuedoephedrine hydrochloride in them - legal speed. They clear your nose and pep you up a treat.

If it's flu you won't be thinking of talking the exam tomorrow. It maybe a bad cold but flu would have you confined to bed.

I had flu once and couldn't so much as type so I would say you have a bad cold.

I find green tea with honey and lemon helps comfort me when ill.

if yo have a bad cold- something for pain and temperature - plenty fluids - with honey and lemon are good - if you have the flu - forget the exam - and get to bed for a week or so - i had the flu once and it knocks you sideways and turns you inside out

With flu the more you try and do the more it works into your system. That's why docs advise bed rest. Get someone to pop to the chemist and get a load of flu stuff dose yourself up, plenty of fluids and rest I'm afraid x

Arse End of the Universe, Cumbria

Only had flu once and really thought I was going to die...spent best part of 10 days in bed only dragging myself out to get to the loo and grab a drink from the bathroom tap - getting down the stairs to the kitchen to find some food happened on day 4 and I passed out face first in my bowl of cornflakes...fortunately my mam force fed me paracetamol and a bit if toast so I didn't cock my clogs from starvation...had heavy colds now and again and it's still paracetamol and fluids the only way to get through it - viruses are real fuckers!

Spicy / Thai soup. Absolutely tons of fresh chilli, ginger garlic and herbs. The vitamin and antioxidant boost is massive and the fresh chilli really helps sweat things out
