Yep, and unfortunately for some reason in this world of social media there's a mistaken belief that everyone's opinion on any given subject is equally valid. |

That's the beauty of a forum, everyone has a say. But in general youre right, just because you have an arsehole, it doesn't mean you have to show it all the fucking time |

So if I, a man (allegedly), were to express the opinion to a woman with kids that giving birth isn't as painful as they kid on, and that they milk it. Would that opinion be valid and equally as worthwhile as hers, or a load of crap as I have no experience to base it on? |

The alleged male's opinion would indeed be valid, yes.
Whether he is right or not is something different. |

If its your opinion that's the case, you would be wrong, but still entitled to have that opinion |

We appear to be quibbling about the meaning of the word valid. Perhaps I should have used another.
While people are entitled to their opinions, the current trend on media sources to give equal weight to everyone's opinion purely because they have one, is frankly arsegravy.
Experience forming an opinion, as in the example I gave above, makes one opinion more valid than another.
(That's not my opinion on childbirth by the way. I made it up. Don't hurt me!) |

I think we agree to be honest. An opinion could be innocently held to be true even if it isn't, but when facts are shown to disprove the opinion then holding on to it is just daft.
Lets take the childbirth example. If someone told me I'd milked it and should not complain, I would find something to do to him that would hurt to an equal measure, then say he's milking it and should not complain. If he still held the opinion after that then there's nothing further to discuss. |

I'm an advocate that everyone is entitled to voice their opinion and are equally it's right to question the basis or reasoning for the opinion.
Validity of an opinion is surely a degree of scrutiny to test if the opinion has a truthful basis and a logical conclusion
The idea that beliefs or opinions are sacred and should not be subject to scrutiny is an opinion I would reason is not conducive to being practical or objective |

Who says the opinion is wrong? Some women give birth with no pain relief or just gas and air. Some scream for an epidural at the first few contractions. |
