As of 01/10/14 you no longer need to display your tax disc in your car. It's all computerised so the police know if you have valid tax using their ANPR. The DVLA no longer issue paper tax discs so legally it is not necessary to display anymore |

Taxed our car last month, didn't bother to put it in the car though so being a month early we were a month ahead of the law. Have not put a tax disk on any of my bikes for 10 years or so, since the police stopped checking them. Bike tax disk holders just spoiled the look |
