Seems there is a few people on here who know their cars so I thought I'd ask, a quick google search wasn't much help

I'm looking into getting a secondary alternator and battery fitted any idea on how much this could likely be?

Far to much hard work! Have a look for a higher amp alternator instead of a second one, date I ask what the vehicle is and the reason for the second battery, also would it be a normal battery or a leisure battery?

I've just upgraded to stage 2 audio install (upgraded amps and line out drivers on the rear)

When the systems at approx half power the headlights begin to dim and flicker

Common sense dictates more power out is gonna need more power in before I can upgrade to stage 3.

Some audio cars run 3 alternators

That changes things a little, as now it's not a normal car with having to worry about mpg ect,

Would look at a higher rated battery and alternator first before getting secondary one's installed, it is possible but wouldn't want to tackle it myself

Maybe look at removing a/c pump for the extra room

Probably best to fit a higher output alternator and an "optima" battery. Audio cars (sound off cars) are usually custom built, rarely driven so have things like aircon pumps & powersteering pumps removed so have room for additional alternators.

You could also fit a split-charging system, run from one alternator into two batterys(one in the boot).

It's no where near the level of the audio cars that aren't dailys

Mine is a daily driver but has some serious audio packed inside

Next to do is sort the battery/alternator and fully line it out with soundproofing rather than just the door panels like I've got.

Cheers for the advice peeps much appreciated

Alternator just leave alone, all you need is a better battery and use a good quality power cap in your audio set up.. Simples
