See the tories are already setting their stall out early to fuck over those unfortunately relying on benefits for whatever reason not all despite the propoganda are dossers.
Tories are proposing a 3year yes 3 year freeze on benefits.
With the undisputable fact cost of living has risen faster than incomes and will continue to do so how on earth are folk meant to survive.
Despite again what folk are told by media there are not that many jobs around.
They are to abolish inheritance tax which will help the few not the many.
I have no issues folk making and maximising their income but believe in fairness and with this lot along with the liberals who gave the rich an overnight massive tax cut at same time the bedroom tax came in which hits the folk who are not in position to do owt about it.
Wake up folks look beyond the headlines. |

"Many people not on benefits have had no pay rise either! "
This too. Providing that they can work where possible. Maybe an incentive to top up to a manageable wage providing they do a fair amount of hours. The 15 hours a week thing is a joke. I understand is harder with kids or some disabilities. So I'm not hating |

This. I haven't had a pay rise in 4 years I fail to see why I should pay more taxes to fund a pay increase to those on benefits. |

i gues we will be caught up in those people claim benefits, what about all the eastern European people claiming for thier 10 children whom dont live here and dont work but claim they are self employed so claim even more, this needs to be looked at and clearly addressed, they pass through several free countries to come here, we need a strong positive voice in this area, |

More to the point, why should MPs get a 10% pay rise and the rich get tax breaks when most people have seen their income decrease in real terms over the last few years?
Is blaming those on benefits really the way to go? There aren't enough jobs for those looking now, the constant increases in retirement age compound that situation so how is trying to force people off benefits, by starving them, going to help?
All that will achieve is greater poverty, more deaths due to poverty, more strain on the health service as people increasingly suffer health problems and an increase in crime.
Do you want to pay more tax to catch and incarcerate those who are forced to steal to survive?
And yes, it really is becoming that serious. We're well on our way back to Victorian Britain in terms of the rich/poor divide.
Why when our government are turning a blind eye to the billions in tax owed by large companies are people blaming those on benefits for the state of the country? The benefit bill for the sick and unemployed is a pittance in comparison.
Don't believe what you read in the media.
If the government do continue to take from the poorest, it will only be to give more to themselves. Punishing the poor and disadvantaged won't help the average person at all. |

In 5 years I've given my staff pay rises in line in line with MW increases whilst giving myself a zero percent pay rise. This is obviously in reality actually a pay cut I've received. Do I moan about it ? No ! I work harder to provide jobs for my staff and valuable income to the treasury !
I would have no qualms with radical changes to the benefit system !!!! |

Absolutely and it's a crap job. Working away from home 3-4 nights a week. The media always trying to entice you into skulduggery. Very little job security and so on.
I'm not sure we need quite so many of them. Low level Constituency matters could be dealt with by staff locally. |

"I work for the NHS and im in the 6th year of a pay freeze...during these 6 years beneits have has rises... How can that be justified?"
What you should be asking is how can 10% for MPs, tax breaks for the rich and failure to collect billions in tax owed by companies be justified.
Addressing those things would help everyone.
There isn't much left to be taken from the poorest. |

Re Minimum Wage/ Living Wage.
A number of areas, including Glasgow, have encouraged a Living Wage and details of those firms which comply can be found on a website.
I'd like to see some sort of door or window sticker so potential customers could decide whether or not to use that shop/ cafe etc. |

"Tax the rich 40%
Define 'rich'.
someone who has more money then they need simples
Excellent and you can now articulately elaborate exactly how much "they" need"
Oh did I touch a nerve?
Answer depends on the individual but I do know "they" don't need more money than they can spend in a lifetime

That's so hard to quantify though. My grandmother's nursing home is costing £900 per week and that's a cheaper room. By the time my generation is going into a home , I dread to think how much it will cost . So doesn't take long for a reasonable amount to be spent. Then if that home doesn't accept socially funded residents , you have to move homes.
On here we are never going to right all the wrongs that the previous and current government have done .

I really wish which ever party gets in will look after carers. They preach about how they want families to care for the elderly and disabled. I myself am a full time carer to my disabled mum. I cate 24/7 for her, as she needs riund the clock care. Iv worked my carers allowance out. It works out to £2.80 an hour. A lot less than minimum wage. I have to get up through the night to see to her. Yes at the end of the day she is my mum and i wouldnt have it any other way. But if she was to go into a nursing home it would cost 10x more than carers allowance. I can understand why people do put relative into homes. Then when i need anything its such a fight to try and get it. Half the time i give up fighting. All these politicians all crap in the same pot. All false promises. Made council cut backs and done away with council run day centres so now if i want a days break we have to pay for day centre, if i want a weeks respite yes sure i can have a week but because of cut backs i have to pay £200 + towards costs for respite. So sorry please forgive me for having no faith in any of the political parties.

Universal credit is one of the worst decisions this government could make to be honest....rent arrears will rise and some who have no budgeting skills will just not have a clue...I hope I'm proved wrong but been in the public sector far too long |

I've always wondered why the Tories think families with children living in a low-wage economy, many of whom are single parents, are less deserving then those with disabilities.
Radio 4 PM show was also pointing out that the Tories have provided a lot of detail on their benefits freeze, but said bugger all about Amazon et al who contribute zero in corporation tax. |

I agree to an extent but if somebody doesn't realise that they have to pay their rent each month on time they only have themselves to blame really. It's very easy to set up a direct debit and arrange for that money to go to your landlord each month. I can see there may be problems if the date you receive your "credits" each month is different as my tax credits are but we all have to take some responsibility at the end of the day. Of course, if somebody has learning difficulties etc then that is completely different |

I totally get what you are saying, we all have to take responsibility for our affairs but alas there are some that simply don't....I see people spending their housing benefit payments on new Xbox for the kids...there are those that simply don't have budgeting skills because the welfare system has wiped their arses for many years....we have a culture of generations of benefit claimants and while in an ideal world people should take responsibility I'm afraid to say it....they won't...call me a cynic but I've heard every excuse under the sun why somebody didn't pay their rent... |

They don't. If the Tories had their way they would remove the welfare system totally. Those out of work or disabled starve. Simple.
They're doing it step by step, in stages at the moment but they won't be happy until there are no benefits, no "free" NHS and no poor people making the country untidy. |

Whilst not wanting to sound heartless and cause innocent children to be made homeless, maybe the threat of eviction for not prioritising their rent over other luxuries is a threat they need. Or do they still not take much notice of that either? I'm shit with my money, however I always ensure my rent and bills are paid first so I can be shit with the pittance I have left. I would like an honest party to get in , constantly pretending to lower taxes is an insult to most people's intelligence , look around and think for a Mo , we are paying tax on tax on tax , including those on benefits , it's a massive amount of everyone's hard earned , and for those who have grafted all their lives and saved , they are also faced with tough choices to prevent themselves getting excessively taxed rant over |

Benefit fraud is far, far lower than most people believe.
The vast majority of benefit claimants are genuinely looking for work or unable to work, and by far the biggest proportion of the welfare bill goes on pensions and pensioners, not on benefits.
The government is doing a grand job of spreading misinformation, and of setting the poor against the poorer in order to distract from how much they are helping themselves to. |

What are the Labour party plans to tackle the deficit if they get in power at the general election? Miliband never mentioned the economy in his speech at the Labour party conference (claims he forgot, what a joke).
For once why don't labour be honest and spell out what cuts they would make to tackle the deficit? If they get in power at the general election they will have to make cuts somewhere. |
