Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum

Last wedding I went to I wore a black dress with purple cardigan and tights. I think all black might be a bit gloomy.

Black with yellow accessories would be nice? Still colourful then?

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

Stylish black doesn't have to be gloomy. Accessories can be your friend.

My own wedding dress was a black pencil skirt and tailored cerise jacket (big hair too seeing as it was the 80's)

although I wouldn't wear black to a wedding I think as a guest you're not the one that people will be focussing on so it doesn't matter.

Not these days it's not.. I went to a wedding yesterday and I wore black and red and lots of people had black on. I think it's an old fashioned thing that you can't wear black to a wedding xx

I wouldn't wear black to a wedding, it may be an old fashioned opinion but I don't think it's nice. Even with colourful accessories, you're still wearing black and it would be the focus.

To be fair, it's all personal choice and the only opinion that really matters in these instances is the bride. If she doesn't mind then go for it, but if it was me I'd mind.

Just my opinion though having been brought up in quite a traditional and religious family.

I worked for pronuptia, black for wedding dresses and bridesmaids is far more common now, think it would only be frowned upon if it were to make a statement (as in the old mother in law jokes), not at all unusual these days. One bride of mine married in red as her future mother in law had already decided she was the 'scarlet lady' as mil thought she'd taken groom from his ex, even tho ex was divorced before they even met

saw a great picture the other day of the bride and groom kneeling down in church and written on the soles of the grooms shoes was HELP ME!

You could just wear a black veil and carry a scythe as your accessory!
