Mine would be an all silver G wagon with chrome wheels, a Tesla model S in brown or grey, and a few classics: mgb gt in black, Saab 900 in black, a 70s dodge challenge/charger in black , vw golf mk1 any colour but red and 1977 Pontiac trans am.

Fire away!

"l I've been assessed by an RAC driver trainer from a previous job as a response driver.

Still not an excuse but, rules are made to be broken right?

"

And you were never told that it does not matter how capable a driver you are, you need to drive in a way that will give you time to react to the most incompetent d*unk on the road? Or that no matter how well maintained your vehicle is, at high speeds a front blow-out caused by unseen sharp objects on a carriageway is lightly to cause a serious or fatal accident?

Think either you were had or have never had a single advanced driving lesson.

To add to my wish list, please can I have a Harrier Jump Jet - its not a car - but they are on the 2nd hand market, and everyone would get out of my way in rush hour ... Also vertical landing means I can park anywhere, though the tarmac would melt...

I think I would want a transit van, also a hilux pickup (not the top gear one!) and for those days when you just need to pop out for a pint of milk then something smaller would be appropriate, that would be the Aventador, there is just something sexy about Lamborghini design.

Hmmm, been had? Unlikely as i have the certificates. Im well aware of the effects of blowouts, mechanical failure etc as Im a mechanic by trade hence my car is checked regularly in quiet time.

Im amazed at the response my post has had to be honest, seeing as I've mentioned nothing about the speeds involved, time of day etc.

If only I lived my life like you guys eh?

"I'm a simple soul. I'd just like a Figaro for my birthday next year.

"

My niece has got one of those, absolutely adores it, pet name "Rufus", bloody hideous looking thing.

Definitely put a paper bag over my head if I had to drive that.

"I'll be happy when my Volvo v70 t5 is finished. 350-375bhp ex police 7seat estate, low, loud & very proud!

Already embarassed a 45k Jag xk8 on the motorway with the kids laughing & waving goodbye! Pmsl

Not that I break the speed limit.......much.

You actually got in a road race with your kids in the back?

Not at all, he didn't get close enough for it to be a race.lol

Just in case anyone cares, my kids are speed freaks & I've been assessed by an RAC driver trainer from a previous job as a response driver.

Still not an excuse but, rules are made to be broken right?

So you accelerated like a adolescent who had just passed his test with your kids in the back wow! You know what I am going to go with this being a bullshit comment as I would rather that than come to teams you were so irresponsible to race another car with your kids in the back. you're entitled to your opinion & yes, it may be irresponsible but, the car is properly maintained, uprated brakes & suspension as per police spec & the road was quiet. I'm not a loon who goes wheelspinning round the town centre trying to impress.

"

and the other cars/trucks etc on the road around you are they as equely well maintained and driven by such fantastic drivers as you ? or are they driven by average joe who may panic and make a wrong move as theres an idiot hooning up on them in a tweeked up volvo panic indescision oh shit crash . but dont worry you and your kida will be safe as your cars an ex cop car thats uber well maintained

What other cars/trucks? Were you there?

Thats the trouble with forums, too many people eager to put people down when in reality they don't know enough about the subject.

As I said earlier, I said nothing in regards to speed, people have chosen to assume high mph. Drink drivers were mentioned, tyre failure was mentioned & now we have "average drivers panicking".

Say what you will but, fact is, I'm still here, my kids are still here & the car is unmarked. Not to mention any other motorists on that short piece of tarmac at that time went unharmed.

I think enough has been said.
