Is love to drive a formula 1 car to see what the handling is like. I'd love to drive an open top muscle car through America and visit all the really cool cities.
I would love to drive a supercar though Italy xxx |

All three of my wants, I already own -
Series 1 Land Rover 1968 in green (for fun, I restored it)
Land Rover Discovery 1997 3.9 V8 in lotus racing colours! (for towing my boat)
BMW M5 2005 V10 in light blue (everyday car)
Am mulling over getting a supercharged 90's Jag as people I know are emigrating and they are looking to sell it

And you were never told that it does not matter how capable a driver you are, you need to drive in a way that will give you time to react to the most incompetent d*unk on the road? Or that no matter how well maintained your vehicle is, at high speeds a front blow-out caused by unseen sharp objects on a carriageway is lightly to cause a serious or fatal accident?
Think either you were had or have never had a single advanced driving lesson.

I think I would want a transit van, also a hilux pickup (not the top gear one!) and for those days when you just need to pop out for a pint of milk then something smaller would be appropriate, that would be the Aventador, there is just something sexy about Lamborghini design. |

Hmmm, been had? Unlikely as i have the certificates. Im well aware of the effects of blowouts, mechanical failure etc as Im a mechanic by trade hence my car is checked regularly in quiet time.
Im amazed at the response my post has had to be honest, seeing as I've mentioned nothing about the speeds involved, time of day etc.
If only I lived my life like you guys eh? |

Where to start.
Mecedes S class (top of the range, turbo diesel).
Audi A8 (top of the range, turbo diesel)
Vauxhall insignia (like a 2.0L, diesel, everyday run-around car)
Dodge Charger/Challenger (late 60's/early 70's)
Ford Capri (2.8i, late 80's)
Ford Cortina mkiii (from life on mars tv show)
Probably a few more.
Maybe add to list later. |

What other cars/trucks? Were you there?
Thats the trouble with forums, too many people eager to put people down when in reality they don't know enough about the subject.
As I said earlier, I said nothing in regards to speed, people have chosen to assume high mph. Drink drivers were mentioned, tyre failure was mentioned & now we have "average drivers panicking".
Say what you will but, fact is, I'm still here, my kids are still here & the car is unmarked. Not to mention any other motorists on that short piece of tarmac at that time went unharmed.
I think enough has been said. |
