I've been lounging in bed with no energy due to fluesque symptoms... Watched a few kids programmes from the seventies on YouTube .. It is what they make me remember that I like... Parsley the Lion chasing snakes .. Always at lunchtimes... I came home for lunch for the first six years of my school life... I watched the Herb Garden and the Magic Roundabout and all the old favourites those of a certain age will remember... Thing of it is, no age in our history or in our own timespan, is, was, or ever will be certain. The first time I laughed at Dougal's rudeness in the Magic Garden, I knew fuck all about that! It makes kids fearless, that blissful ignorance. Quite right too.
Just nice to be reminded of that time for a while. My temperature is high, but so are my spirits.
Whatever age you are , what are your earliest tv memories ...? |

Im 27...the earliest pre notion of school memories are, probably Looney tunes, sesame street, and south american talk and food shows, after going to school a lot of vintage dubbed anime, the flintstone reruns... Mexican, colombian and Venezuelan telenovelas and comedy shows. And a lot of ass and boobs in normal family shows in the afternoons.
Oooh I nearly forgot 'Video Power'!!! |

Its amazing and really interesting how memories of childrens TV shows really unite people of a particular age groups. I wonder whether the creators of these shows knew at the time that the children that watched them would still be reminiscing all these years later. You can quite accurately judge someones age between 5 to 10 years from what programmes they remember. Evie is only 5 years older than me, but i dont remember Tizwaz or Swop Shop but Jamie and the magic torch was my fav. Onny hasnt got mixed up, Torchy the Battery Boy is a different show which can be found by google. I remember all the shows that Centaur does as he is only one year younger than me. Loads of shows my partner Pieces remembers that i dont as he is 8 years older than me, like Mr Ben. Re-runs do confuse matters tho. |

just the theme tune to "tomorrow people" used to scare the b'jesus out of me, that and the "children of the stones" ..... the re-runs of the "singing ringing tree" were pretty surreal as well..... "H R Puff'n'Stuff was pretty bonkers too!!! ..... we also had kids programmes in welsh language mixed in amongst the english programmes on bbc and itv before S4C started with things like "bilidowcar" (which was like blue peter or magpie), "telefant" and "bobl bach" |

I have had the great honour of appearing on stage with Sooty and Harry Corbett. I was required to dance like a fairy and Harry said I was probably the best he'd ever seen .
I bet he said that to all the girls .
I was only about 7 or 8 and got chosen to go up on stage |

Sitting with my parents, watching Juliet Bravo, Tales of the unexpected, and Dempsey and Makepeace. And being shocked finding out my Dad had a thing for Makepeace . Mum loved Doris Day too, so I loved watching all of those films.. we had then all on Betamax. Ahhh happy days.. it was always my job to label the tapes. There was nothing better for me than opening a new tape and seeing that slip of stickers all fresh and ready to be written on.
I'm sure I watched usual kids shows around that time too, but those memories are what sticks out for me. |
