No complaints here, we have been together a few years now. Although I do seem to find that it's socially more acceptable when the female is younger.
Age is just a number, I think it's more about how you get on together

I spent 2 years with a guy in his early 20's and I was early 40's. It worked for us for a while but I lost a couple of friends who thought I was immoral and it was wrong but when I challenged them they didn't think it was wrong if the roles had of been reversed. |

Lots off little things there more grown up want to settle down there supportive and always help you be your best very hairy chests too and always mind blowing in bed and help u discover things you didn't know u enjoyed before as they have more experience only ever been in a relationship with one guy same age as me that was my daughters dad he wouldn't get off his ass and get a job took drugs was abusive towards me wanted to go out with his mates all time put me off for life xxx

As I said on Busty's post my Mum was 13 years older than her partner and he worshipped her. My relationships have all been with younger guys - not much younger , but younger nonetheless. I think age is irrelevant - it's their attitude to life.  |

You know what's funny, the first guy I lived with was 12 years older than me and never ever thought about being an age difference but we where a lot younger then, in fact I think there was 14 years between us I was 18 he was 32 |

I'm with my partner because I love him, we knew each other a year and neither fancied the other then all of a sudden we realised we had fallen in love.
The only downside is me may not have so many years as if we had met 30 years ago but hey you could get run over by a bus tomorrow

It was interesting to watch the age gap programme that was on the other day. It was interesting that the two younger woman meantioned a few times the standard of living they have with there older man and spoke about the material things the get bought for them. |

I don't believe that older men go and seek out younger woman because they'll simply feel they have more in common, I would think there might be a slight sexual motivation lol.
But I think you could say the same the other way.
Guess there's no one fit all description for people's feelings or motivations. |

For actual relationships and friendships I tend to prefer partners the same sort of age as me, I like the shared cultural references from growing up and that kind of thing.
When it's just sex I always gravitate towards older, anything from 5 to 15 years, and I'm not sure why. |

So other people that are in an age gap relationship, was it something either half actively looked for or was it just something that happened/developed?

I always prefer older,, older couples and older single guys. They come with wisdom, experience, manners and a confidence that is so attractive. I've dated younger, but even 35/40 in my experience are not a patch on 50+ |

for us just happened... Hit it off straight away and Here we are years later still . They say that things happen when least expect it, and when not looking for it! True in our case |

When i was swinging as a single fem i met a guy who was almost 10 years younger than me, i really liked him, far far more than as just a meet but cus he is younger i never thought anything would come of it, however he felt the same about me and now we have been together for many years and married a couple of years ago
Only a couple of people have ever said anything about our age gap and at a time when i had just had a big operation 2 people thought he was my son .... im hoping that i was looking very old eus of the pain etc of the operation ...... most friends and relatives have said nothing but good things about us however i do think people prefer it when the age gap is the other way round !!! |

Its strange that people seem to think like that however in the past before i was with a younger guy i never cared about seeing the age gap that way round but i hated seeing young women with guys more than 10 years older than them, i alwatys thought they were probably after his money lol |

Yeah and a man should always be taller. See its bizarre cause large age gaps between same sex couples don't bother me. At 17 I dated a 35 year old woman and I honestly didn't see a problem with it x |

I know 2 happily married couples..... 1 the Woman is 36 and hubby 46. The other Woman is 50 and Hubby is 40 ! both are very happy and say age doesn't matter xx |

Many have their own opinions in age difference relationships... Stereo typical hog wash that is often seen as fact ... Feeling the need to pick apart others relationships often due to the lack of their own, or pure ignorance. Very often those in relationships with age differences are very happy and contented... Others seem to sometimes have proplems with it? Strange world at times aint it!  |

My ex husband was 8 years younger than me and my bf before him was 9 years younger. I didnt go looking for younger guys, it just happened. However because neither of those relationships worked out, I think I would avoid getting in a relationship with a younger guy again. Just because of my own personal experiences. Mind you, who am I kidding? Chance would be a bloody fine thing!!! |

This is exactly how we met and the age gap doesnt bother us or our friends and family. We have been married almost 4 years and are as happy now as when we got together |

My 2 closest friends are in age gap relationships. One married to a foreigner 8 years younger and her kids adore him too, one to marry next year and he's 25 years older. Both v happy couples, well matched and similar outlooks on life.
I've always preferred younger, I was once persuaded to date an older guy I was 19 he was 33 ... And proposed on our 2nd date...couldn't get outta there fast enough!!
On here I'll go as low as 25, depending if we get on. IF I were to have another relationship, it would likely be someone younger. |
