Just a little this-happened-today story regarding the ever ongoing subject of winks.

We got a wink of a single lady, fairly unusual so we clicked on her profile.

First line, roughly:

"Winks will be ignored, if I'm not worth writing to, we won't be meeting".

Hypocrite much?!

I received a wink just a few moments ago from a lovely couple, winked back and got a message, unfortunately I couldn't take it further cause of arrangements I already have, but i think they're a great way to show an interest without messaging only to have said message deleted if the receivers isn't interested.

following loads and loads of posts on here, re winks, i have started making an effort to look at and use winks. I still prefer to send a message, however have winked back at some of the winks sent (ages ago lol )

maybe they too are reading the threads and trying something new,

We've succumbed to the "if you can't beat them, join them" in that ...

- if we get a wink we will only wink back if we think we may be compatible , otherwise we'll just delete it ...

- and conversely if we see a profile but not 100% sure they'll like us then will wink them before sending a message

Here is a question (ok 2)..... how come it's rude (so we keep being told) to not answer a message, but it's not rude to not reply to a wink?

Do winkers have issues with rejection and that's why they wink instead of sending messages?

we had a look on a ladies profile once and got a dirty e-mail of her saying cant you read no couples. well we realised that when we looked at her profile we didnt know before we looked at it and she barred us from looking again. we did an inoscent thing and didnt know untill we went into her profile as it didnt say on her line!

I always use 'winks'. I've always thought of them as letting someone know, I liked what I read/saw & that I were interested & intrigued to know more...

Now tho, I'm not so sure!
