My favourite band and I got to see them at Newcastle Arena a couple of years ago. Brilliant gig and Kelly did a solo set while the band took a rest. Have you got his version of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" - amazing. |

The manics also rock. Stereophonics were called tragic love company at first. Anyone know how they came up with their new name ? No googling folks. . . Heh |

"Nice one. . How does it cope with the appalling standard of spelling and grammar that seems to be the done thing these days ? " OK, I can answer this, but from the perspective of someone who is print disabled. Spelling is the realm of the sighted, and to a lesser degree grammar too. Screen readers; for that is what JAWS and Voice over are, read the text direct using a fonetic understanding, so for example xmas, would be pronounced as exmas, the clever functionality within the apps is to use a dictionary manager that identifies the text of xmas and pronounces it as christmas, or another example would be FYI which when set to pronounce it in full would say for your information.
If I haven't lost you with that, then the apauling use of text speak thanks to sms messaging is the curse to us all, but fortunately educated and intelligent people know when to use it and when not to. Though twitter isn't helping, frown
PS sorry about my spelling |
