Who does he think he is kidding?
"Forgot" to mention the economy or immigration in his conference speech. That was convenient given the damage his party did to these two topics last time they were in power.... Was it deliberate omission?
He did focus on NHS. Promised "increased" spending - which is actually lower than the increases under this current Government (though perhaps with less interference from Andy Burnham? If he keeps that brief)
Having voted AGAINST pegging benefit increases to 1% in this parliament! he proposes to do exactly that for TWO MORE years than the current government plans.
He will increase minimum wage to £8 per hour by end of next parliament..... This is currently £6.50 per hour (from end of this month). It has increased, on average by just over 4% per year for last 6 years. Do the maths! 4% compounded over the next 6 years = £8.22 per hour.
Who is he trying to kid? Would you trust this man or his sidekick Ed Ballsup? |

He never mentioned the economy because Labour have'nt got a clue how to run the economy. If the country had followed Balls and Miliband's plan for economic recovery i suspect we'd still be in recession now. I'm no fan of George Osbourne but he was proved right with his plan for recovery to get us out of recession. 1-0 to the tories.
Miliband never mentioned immigration because Labour want more of the same that they had last time they were in Power. Opinion polls show the majority of people in the country want immigration cut, but an opinion poll of Labour activists at the conference showed they don't think there is a problem with immigration (says it all really about Labours stance on immigration).
As for raising the minimum wage, when Chukka ummuna was pushed by Andrew Neil on the sunday politics show last weekend about this, that it worked out to an increase of 30p per hour a year increase, and that most of that 30p would be spent on tax, chukka seemed clueless about how to respond to it, lol.
Labour on the Nhs, just look at what happened to stafford hospital under Labour rule. Labour's insistence that patient waiting time targets must be met, which led to patients being rushed through A and E, not treated properly and patient negligence on the wards, patients having to drink water from dirty flower vases and under staffing of doctors and nurses.
So no i don't trust Labour. |

The global financial crisis was not caused by them but they handed over a growing economy to the Tory cons who promised deficit reduction and failed to deliver whilst bombing the economy. his party conference speech was not a national state of the union address but an off the cuff talk to his party. It's just been bigged up by opponents who are trailing behind labour in the polls and are desperate. If one is interested in party conferences go along and get involved rather than expecting to form free minded opinions based on biased media reports. And read fiscal reports if you are financially literate. I don't know who I'm voting for at this point but then manifestos are not out yet, so I'm somewhat ignorant like the rest of us. |

His speech was a disgrace, macho bullshit attempting to emulate cameron by not using a script. Not mentioning the economy was a major faux pas. Not sure which was worse, an oversight or a deliberate act. The economy is verging on the edge of bankruptcy, a leftover from Gordon Browns black hole but all parties are in denial about how bad it is.
Milliband has no gravitas, no statesman like qualities. A trait which blights the majority of politicians these days. |

Id give him some Wensleydale and send him and Gromit packing.
They're all the same, all 3 parties, they don't care about ordinary people's lives.
Just patronising, self-serving bullshitters who only care about what Westminster based journalists say, and they should get their heads out of their arses and actually go and talk to real people.
The best way of improving the country is to abolish the stupid and wasteful Common Agricultural Policy - then everyone has enough food to eat, it's cheaper, and voila, no food banks.
Still, I can only imagine what goes on in the bedroom! |
