talking to an elderly couple today, been married nearly 60 years, got onto talking about how they met etc and some of the things they said
apparently he was "wooing" her for quite some time.
then they started "courting" before deciding they were "going steady"
after they got engaged, she started her "bottom draw" which apparently means, when you get engaged, you use the bottom drawer of a cupboard to start saving things for when you get married and live in your first home.
thought this was lovely, but guess its the old way of doing chat up, go on a date and shack up together lol |
