"I love spinning I remember the first class I went to I couldn't walk the next day, surprisingly my arms killed too, its great fun though "
I did do it straight after an hour of body conditioning, squats and plank don't think that was a great plan! My legs were already exhausted!! And the seat was so uncomfortable!!! |

Our fem does spinning at least 3 times a week, shes clocking up around 25km a class and any good fitness class should always test you and stay a challenge |

"Ah it will get easier the long you do it ...i should know .. I wanted to cry for the first few classes lol lol
Interesting perspective ?
It should never ever become easier lol "
It's not exactly be easier but any form of exercise changes when you become fit enough to do it well. |

This is true, it should always be hard, it just happens you go further or harder, |

I think it just appears easier when your muscles ajust to any new form of usage and you stop waking up feeling like you have gone two rounds with Tyson |

Spinning is mostly anaerobic exercise. Use a heart rate monitor to make sure you work at the right level of exertion.Too many spinners think a red face and puddle of sweat means weightloss. Oh and hit the indoor rower if you can, works more muscle groups and burns more calories than spinning, running or Nordic cross trainer |

I did a conditioning class before spin which was weighted squats, planks etc. for an hour. Think that's wHats hurting more than the spin today, tbh I couldn't do much spinning I was in a mess from the first hour! Hahaha!! |

bet those glutes are building up nicely and the core work with the planks will tighten you up in the middle so the ass is emphasized even more i like ur PT`s way of thinking

I love spinning classes but the fun factor depends on each instructor, if I ever missed a spin class (I'm always late for everything!) I used to spin by myself on the gym floor cos I enjoyed it so much. It's a killer but seeing the results made me love it! Booked myself on two back to back spin classes for Thursday after about 3 months off the gym from an injury! Crazy cos I'm not going to be able to walk or even sit down on Friday but need to start again! It's bizarre how much your arse hurts the first few times and then completely stops! Was doing 8 classes a week at my peak and ended up losing two stone! Back on it tomorrow hopefully! Think of the positive-it makes being on top easier! Haha! |

Honestly after time off I'd suggest back to back spin classes are not advisable ? It will delay your progress " getting back into it "
Spin should not be used as a warm up for anything in my opinion
There comes a point where one learns to train smart not excessively hard

After 3 months off, 2 classes back to back done properly are a recipe for injury or at the least severe DOMS.
When I was racing on the bike I used to occassionally do 2 classesns some nights in the gym and it's not an easy undertaking |

I love spinning, my favourite form of exercise torture. On top of the road cycling I do, can't think how many miles I get through.
Hoping to qualify as an instructor soon and hopefully start getting paid to do something I enjoy for once. |

It's great winter training and for those times when you just don't fancy getting into the roads when it's chucking it down with rain. |

That's what most of the one I tried on Monday was, tbh I was already in a shit state from the hour of weighted squats and stuff I did beforehand. |

You may be in a little bit of pain, it's a full body workout so you may well use muscles you haven't worked for years. Start with a really low weight for first few weeks til you find it easy, then gradually increase it.
I do pump for tone, combat/attack for calories, and balance for flexibility and tone. And occasionally Insanity because I'm stupid! |

That is the best rime to get out on the bike, it teaches you to really handle a bike. 19mm tyres and no tread on a rain slick road, what a rush |

I agree the seats are darned uncomfortable. But if you're a soft-arse like me - you can buy a padded gel seat to fit over the top for less than a tenner!

Ooh I've roped my mum into sitting for my lad for an hour in the morning so I'm squeezing in an LBT class at 9.15, then 2 Friday.
Might also of acquired the les mills body pump DVDs so I can crack on at home if I can't get to classes so any recommendations of good home weight would be much appreciated. I need a bar and prob 2 @2.5kg and 2@5kg weights to get started |
