So a plague of mini bastards all over the place. Although I read the last day that apparently they don't like peppermint oil and to out it around doors and windows and they won't come near it.

it's the mild winters that are making them bigger

I've just downloaded an app on my phone that you can use to identify common spiders.

Got spooked by some yellow and black stripey ones in my garden and assumed they were some sort of deadly poisonous foreign intruders.

Turns out they're common European Garden Spiders so panic over

One of those hideously huge things came running straight at me at work last week. It stopped, splayed it's legs to the full extent then came at me again. I screamed, jumped over it and ran out of the shop!

Our optician was testing a patient and came out of his room as he thought there was a serious problem......... There was, that thing was as big as my hand!

Needless to say, I've been the but of many jokes since

Yeah i found one the size of Godzilla in my bathroom last week. I shouted, my son came running. He knows I'm frightened but he isn't, so he protected me by getting down nose to nose with the spawn of Satan and blew on it so it ran and hid. now I've no idea where the bastard is..... or the sacrificial goat i left in hopes it would be persuaded to not eat us.

I read somewhere that nearly all uk spiders can bite. But not usually strong venom, no mor than a bee sting at worse unless your allergic to spider bites of cause.

The most venomous uk spide is the daddy long leg but fangs are too small to puncture the skin.

On a lighter note....

When your asleep spiders wipe their willies in your face

Why did you put it in the bin. Everyone knows you have to throw them over next doors.

They make me jump the first time i see them, when they shoot out from under the telly or the bed.. but once i know they're around, i leave them be.

I'd rather them in my room than a bloke i can't get rid of.

Nothing wrong with spiders , it's wasps that freak me out. We are meant to be seeing an increase in spiders and daddy longlegs this winter.

Oh goody! We're a spider friendly household. In fact when my daughter was little I used to catch interesting ones to show her in the morning.

It also helps keep the ex away he is terrified of spiders

Over the rainbow, under the bridge

Spiders, beetles, bees, moths, wasps, daddy long legs - none of them bother me.

Not keen on flies as they are dirty but not afraid of them.

Rats and stray dogs make me nervous - but they can actually hurt you.

Painting my house and for every spider I shoo'd off I painted over another 5, stupid little buggers.

In 1000's of years to come, an archeologist will excavate my house and wonder at the ceremonial meaning of adorning ones house with arachnids, I'll be know as the spider shaman of suffolk lol.
