"on the 1st october i get 0.19 pay rise whoopee so excited cant wait ,what will i do with all my extra cash ??? all of 2.50 a week "
Be grateful you have a job and regular cash coming in?
When I worked in the private sector the only pay increases I got in 8 years were because of promotion. Each time the NMW went up the lowest paid people got and increase buy not those performing above target or those in management. |

Save it! You'll have £130 at the end of a year. |

Like the lady says, £130 per year, you could buy a flight somewhere or put it towards a course you want to do. You can always do something with more money. |

"i actually only get a pay rise cos im on the minimum wage so it has to go up by law ,they keep saying we need a living wage but still dont get one x" that's what the benefit system tops up for most isn't it? and the main reason for the number of sub 18hour jobs that people cant live off but prefer 18h and top ups to 36h fall time?

I got a decent wage rise this year. As well as receiving the annual rise, I was also given more as I had found out that a 21 year old with no experience who I was training was started on more than me!! I was not happy!!! Some firms think they can take the mick with women who need to work part time. Thankfully my firm realised that it was wrong and did the right thing for which I am very grateful for.
