We look after our Elderly neighbours and this morning I took her to the local Café to meet her friend for coffee, then she goes to bingo till I pick her up later on this afternoon.The Café is a pedestrian zone only so we park near the council offices in a disabled bay and I push her to the café in her wheelchair.The Badge is registered to my car,but on my return a traffic warden had issued a ticket as my friend wsnt with me,will this ticket or can it be enforced,i explained to him where she was if he cared to come with me i'd of showed him,but he said he didn't have time and that I was misusing the badge and he made a report  |

unfortunately you will have to do a lot of arguing but will eventually get the whole thing squashed.
like you I help look after a disabled person and whilst taking them to an appointment got my car ticked it took a few very stern letters of grievance to the local council and the police but in the end they did agree I was with in the rights of the blue badge and it was squashed. sure was a pain in the backside though xxxxxxxxxx |

Jobsworth but a lot of people do use the badges inappropriately I would say keep all her receipts etc from when she was out. Then right a letter with the full info and appeal.
How did the traffic warden not know that you were disabled? Some people with blue badges have diseases that have good and bad days |

I'd speak to folk in the cafe today, while they can still remember, ask if they'd give their names etc. then you'll have to appeal the ticket but you'll have hard and fast facts to produce to them to say they corroborate you dropped off the badge holder at such and such a time. Good luck. |

Sorry I meant he issued a ticket to me when I got back to the car the car is issued to our lady friend and he checked the badge and because it wasn't me gave me the ticket and made a report,i have gone into the council offices and they have me on cctv parking up and pushing my friend away from the car in her chair at 9;25 am

I hope you quash it.
It annoys me that genuine people get done. I saw a muscle bound fuckwit parks his ferrari in a disabled bay, he puts a blue badge on his car dashboard. Walk into the a beauty salon perfectly normally, then walk out and get back into his room. He gets away scot free. |

Could you now issue the council for a bill for your time? Send a demand with an hourly rate for see if they reimburse you!

If you appeal and explain all the circumstances you should get it cancelled. |

make a note of the name of the person who checked the cctv as well, sure with the cctv evidence you should have no problem getting this cancelled quite easily.

If there's proof you were with a disabled person and the badge was for them then they have no case. Stick to your guns. |

An individual's badge may be displayed in a vehicle if it has been used by the holder or to carry the holder to the place where it is parked.
So even if you return to the car alone you have used the badge correctly. |

My mam has a blue badge, it can be used in any car as long as she's using it (she only drives in Arse End, we take her for appointments elsewhere and use tHe badge in our cars) I'd be straight onto Council and local press. Her badge has her picture on it but has to be displayed with the picture face down so can't actually see it - if yours is the same, I'd refuse to enter into a convo with traffic warden and drive off |

He was doing his job but saying that he didn't know the full circumstances so get your evidence and appeal if what you say is true and you can prove it then you should be ok. |

you were using the car and badge for her - which is why the badges are issued - as someone said if she has receipt to prove she was out at the time of ticket you should be ok - it isnt going to be oh were sorry then lets scrap the fine - unfortunately xx good luck |

The amount of times I've heard from a traffic warden "I've started it now so I have to finish, you can appeal later"
They are appraised on the amount of tickets they issue not on how many are paid so it doesn't matter to them if the appeal is upheld or not. |

I was ticked recently, warden misread the finishing date on the ticket.
I appealed and added that if the ticket wasn't quashed. Any further correspondence would be charged at £150 per letter. Payable within 14 days or it doubled. And then doubled again if not paid within 60 days.
After 90 days it would double again and sent to debt collection agency with all fees added.
Response in 72 hours, ticket quashed. |

If you were totally in compliance with the rules - and it sounds like you were - I'd write in her name to the council, as it's parking for her, with her badge and privileges, that are being disputed. Usually you get 3 hours or unlimited in council car parks. Use a local councillor if needed too. We had similar with my dad before he died recently but the council were great and canceled it. if he reports, could be a grand fine and loss of badges.
Happened to us once same situation, had to get the passenger from where she was other wise we would have been fined etc

I live opposite a family of Eastern European Roma gypsies. They have lived in our street for more than three years, but both of their very nice cars - none of the family work - still have foreign plates, as do those of their many other Roma visitors. All of these cars display what seems to be EU disabled badges. Oh, and none are taxed either.
But although our street is zealousy patrolled by the parking Stasi, none of these cars are ever ticketed. Even when wardens see robust and obviously healthy young men get out of them, they just walk on by.
My advice - get a clip-on set of foreign plates and a knock-off EU blue badge, and in all likelihood you'll never get a ticket again. |

My point was that it's so hard, as others have pointed out, to get a legitimate Blue Badge, and so easy to loose
it due to perceived misuse, that you'd be better off to do as the Roma do and use a fake EU one. Yes, it's taking the piss on an epic scale, but the parking police don't care. Or maybe they believe in the Roma heart disease epidemic too?
