Found this.
Energy drinks do not contain bull sperm. They do contain taurine - a name derived from the Latin word 'taurus', which means 'bull' or 'ox'. Taurine was given that name because it was first isolated in the bile of an ox. While it is a major component of bile, taurine is also found in the large intestine and in the tissues of animals and humans. However, the taurine used in common energy drinks is synthetic and is not derived from bulls or other animals. |

it's completely true. they breed bulls specifically for the task and reer them on site, the main factory in Austria is home to at least 150 bulls where they are hand relieved up to 18 times a day; the sperm is collected in large pales and introduced into each can using a pipette. |

Energy drinks are the marketing success of the century.
I remember Lucozade used to be sold on the premise that it helped you get over illness. Now, it's for sports people.
Total con. And it's bloody poisonous. I'd rather have water if I need to rehydrate. |

For sport. I will use powdered isotonic additives. I spent 6 months training to do a 100 mile bike ride and the proper stuff makes a real difference compared to plain water and coridial. Lucozade is shite. So are the likes of red bull and monster but I drink them cos I like them and they give me a short term energy kick. |

Various forms of simple processed sugar and chemical flavourings plus stimulants . I see people in the morning on the way to work with a fag and a can of red bull . . Good god ! People on this thread have said things like 'no ill effects' . . Not visible ones no. . But your poor digestive system ! Is there a mass market for potions to add to our car fuel tanks ? Nope. . That's because the basic fuel is doing the job fine . Oh and please ignore any reference to calories . It's the most misleading marketing trick in history ! |

If I put poison in my system, it's vodka. Then I can't kid myself that I'm doing something 'healthy'. |

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
They are huge business. I met someone who works at one of the major soft drink companies. He was charged with coming up with at least three new ones that would make it to market each year. Apparently we get bored of the same ones.
He had the biggest budget I have ever seen.
