The outside shots of Fawlty Towers were filmed at a local nightclub to me (nowhere near Torquay) and yes it was named Fawlty Towers lol have spent many a d*unken night trying to climb those steps outside hehe
Sadly the club was destroyed by a fire and the site is now home to luxury apartments |

I live five mins from the hotel that inspired the series I took some friends from up north to see it and they were heart broken when they realised it wasn't the same hotel lol I think the only scene actually filmed in torquay is when he beats his car up with a branch lol x |
