I'm a bit irritated. A lass I used to work with has shared an update. It purports to show a kid who has committed a crime, naming him and showing his face.
I put a post on asking if she really felt it appropriate to share a photo of a kid and his name just because the internet says he has done something.
Rather than reply by saying something along the lines of, 'I see your point, someone totally innocent may get clobbered as a result of a prank that has gotten out of hand' or 'I believe in mob justice' she dealt with it by blocking me.  |

yeah think i know the post your on about if its that kid who supposedly set fire to the dog home..
even it it was actually him i dont believe its for any of us to be involved with.. let the authorities deal with him.
I doubt he is feeling smug with himself, probably shitting himself and a petrified little boy who is scared for his life... even though what he did was horrendous and im not condoning his actions but im not a thug nor a bad person and he must be afraid |

Maybe you should think about reporting the post to Facebook or the police, after all if it is a hoax and a child ends up injured or dead because of that post you may find yourself being blamed for something you are not a party to. |

. Well said. I find it quite frightening that people can make judgement based on rumours and without knowing any of the facts. As far as I am concerned everyone is innocent unto all the evidence is heard in front of either a judge or jury. |

No, I wish I had, though. It's bizarre what people share. This sort of thing can really mess someone's life up. You could take a pic of anyone, cobble together some story about them driving around talking to kids and it goes viral. |

Can't you report her even though you're blocked? Give her name and details. Fb might do something about it."
She has unblocked me and has removed the post. So I guess all is well. If she tries to add me as a friend it goes in the bin. |

I had a friend of my daughter keep posting missing children up. One had already been dismissed as a painting of a child rather than an actual photograph. I had to defriend her eventually she was deluging my newsfeed with negativity |

I tend to look up the story on hoax slayer or snopes and then attach a link showing that liking this page will not cure rigor mortis, or that having a cup of tea will make your brain explode, etc 
No one has actually thanked me for that.  |
