Ok this is really weird but does anyone work or have a company in Chester or nearby with boxes I could have for moving?

I have been trying supermarkets, local off licences etc and they all seem to rip up boxes when unpacking them!

Im moving on Sunday so desperate now to get some big boxes

Don't know how many you need or what your finances are, but I found the cheap stacker boxes from the pound store far superior to cardboard and of course you can use them again and again.

I heard this on the radio about recycling cardboard. Well impressed.

First, waste cardboard boxes from local businesses are shredded and given to farms and equestrian centres to be used as horse bedding. When the stables are cleaned out, the waste is fed to worms in a composting pit. The fattened worms are fed to the sturgeon which will produce caviar.

It does, however, explain why cardboard boxes are in short supply.

I've seen people ask on my local Facebook selling page for boxes for moving. It might be worth a go.

Try the fruit and veg sections of supermarkests, for Bannana boxes, they normally have plenty of them if you ask. I got loads from my local Asda when I moved just before the new year.

Maybe try the local recycling site, they may well have people leaving boxes that. Just need to be reassembled

try the local pubs, you will be surprised how strong crisp boxes are, and some of the better quality crisp boxes are even sturdier

Try behind retail parks - use your womanly charms and get a bloke to clamber into the skips - there are normally loads of them. I've done this before or even industrial estates - not as though you will get many of them in the posh Chester suburbs

Good luck

Moved house a couple of years ago and my brothers ex worked for UPS, she got us a shed load of boxes from there, i would have gladly given them to you but the removal company took them after the move. Have you tried your local post office, there always seems to be empty boxes about when i go to my local one, could be worth a try?

if I can get across early enough I can take you to a garden centre when I drop my boxes off for you. I've got 3 decent sized plastic boxes.

if you're not sorted yet then google search for mad4boxes

reasonably priced and they're all uniformly sized which makes moving so much easier

(usually next day delivery)

When I need them i go to my local greengrocer and ask in advance and they save me some.

A small local store is more likely to help because they can predict when they are likely to have some and also have a small enough staff so it will be remembered.
