"Good riddance to a shite company and even worse advets"
Not sure what their adverts have to do with anything but 5500 people unemployed and more emptiy shops in our towns is not a good thing so not sure why you (or anyone else) would appear to be celebrating |

So a bad company should be missed because the staff, who are complicit in the shady sales tactics, will lose their jobs? |

It's been owned by a private equity group - two in fact - since the founder sold it years ago for 1.2billion.
It was bound to lose contract with suppliers eventually. Competition is too tight for the network providers to pay fees to what is effectively a broker when they all have their own network of high st shops.
It's why there are fewer insurance, mortgage and financial services brokers on the high st these days, and all the business is either done directly with the provider or via the internet.
It was the high st equivalent of go compare, compare the meerkat or money supermarket. None of which have branches.
The administrators may well keep the website but close the branches as they're too expensive to run.
Sad when jobs are involved - but as was said earlier - shops need products to sell in order to survive. And with no EE or Vodafone business to sell it's running out of products.

"I think the Dixons Carphone group will be happy. They can remove P4U from the stores and replace them with their Carphone Warehouse. "
Yep nice little monopoly there. I wonder what really motivated all the providers to drop P4U |

Money.
Why pay someone else to offer a service you can provide yourself?
Simple business sense.

It's a shame that yet another retailer will be leaving our high street. Another empty shop and another reason why people don't need to visit. Good luck to the staff that at find themselves out of work. |

P4U problem wasn't with Dixon carphone ... The downfall is more to do with mobile retailers setting up their own shops and them being squeezed out which is a shame as they were and still are making money... But if your product is selling phones and you can't sell them! Game over! |

Just do a search on MSE for Phones4U and see all the problems that the networks have to sort out.
Vodafone, who normally are quite happy for people they recommend to rip their customers off probably weren't earning enough out of it. |
