Have any of you ever been to an authentic thanksgiving family meal in the USA?

They are different thanksgiving day in Canada is in October (the 13th) In the USA its November 27th.

They do, but it isn't at the same time as in the US.

My sister-in-law is originally from Canada.

I've even been to a sort of Thanksgiving over here.

Basically went out for a carvery with a group of family and friends around the time of Canadian Thanksgiving.

I'm a big lover of American culture so it's my hope to one day experience a thanksgiving dinner with our american cousins

Actually being an American it's not always on Nov. 27th. It's always the fourth Thursday of November. It is quite nice having all the family together and enjoying the traditions past down from generation to generation. I have my three daughters in the kitchen with helping me prepare so when they are adults they will prepare for there families by using there moms recipes.. Such a lovely time.

Yes. I was living there for a while and my girlfriend was American. It was a nice do but I was the 'real, live English' novelty in the spotlight all day, meeting her family for the first time.
