The last 2 Lancasters flew over Windermere last weekend...I was invited on my friend's boat to watch it but unfortunately wasn't feeling too well...he said it was awesome and my FB feed was full of videos and pictures |

The Battle of Britain Memorial flight consists of A Spitfire, A Hurricane and A Lancaster Bomber.
The second Lancaster Bomber is currently visiting from Canada to join the Memorial Flight in various events around the country.
These are the only remaining flight worthy Lancasters in existance.
A few weeks ago, they also flew in formation with the last remaining Vulcan Bomber around the North Norfolk area.
While they were in the South East a few weeks ago, they were stationed at Southend Airport for two consecutive weekends.
My house is situated under the approach / departure flight path so you can imagine how good a view I got of them recently
Very low and very loud |

My dad was a navigator in the Lancaster - I was asking him the other day whether he still has his log books as I have never seen them and I would love to read but he was as evasive as ever - dads eh |
