It seems everyone loves tattoos these days, so many comments like "love a woman with tattoos" & the like.
So...is there anyone else apart from me who isn't turned on by tattoos? They literally do nothing for me. The same as if you have a mole or birth mark, it's just not arousing. Now, I'm not putting them down, some of them look great & I've met plenty of folk on here who have tattoos. I'm just wondering if ANYONE else feels the same as me? That they can look good but they make zero difference to how attractive someone is. Unless they're shit & actually are a turn off. |

I'm much the same. I appreciate good ink on men as well as women, but it doesn't get me hard.
I have three tattoo's myself. All very personal to me.

See these seem like normal opinions. I'm just confused with the "women with / men with tattoos, omg so hott!!" attitude. There seems so much of it that I feel like a freak for not being a massive fan of tattoos & not seeing them as a turn on. I'd rather someone was turned on by me as a person than by something drawn on my body. |

The first one I had done was 20 years ago and looks no different now to what it did then.
The most recent one was 10 years ago, and I have a recent picture of it on my profile that was taken about two weeks ago. |

I've said it before but I'm not a massive fan of them, especially on women. Each to their own I guess, and as long as they are then happy great. It really depends on the tattoo and person I don't believe everyone can pull them off enough to look good.
I do however like crystal's sentiment that they make people look more interesting when naked. Still, it isn't a selling point to me at least and usually when people start talking about either beards and tattoos my brain turns off and I walk away.
I do kind of fancy one though. |

I love tattoos and I appreciate good ink on other men but find it sexy as hell on women.
As for what about when we are older?
Well for me I am not going stop getting or doing things just because of how it may be when I gracefully get old lol.
To me it is a bit like saying don't bother looking after yourself by eating right, exercising etc etc because what about when you get older?
Just my tired two cents worth..... |

I adore good tattoos on someone, but I am seeing a guy who doesn't have one.. and his body is almost the sexier for it.
That expanse of virgin skin that I spend hours stroking. Seeing every goosebump and hair rise.
Plenty of guys feel the same way. |

I like them on men, hate them on women.
There was a picture in a newspaper today of ladies at the races dressed all in their finery with big tats showing. I just think it ruined their look. I hate to see brides with tats showing too.

I have to admit I find myself hugely attracted to men with tattoos.
I find it's more the creativity and meaning behind them that allows you to see that person in a more deeper way which is what the main attraction is, you see their uniqueness.
However I do visually love the art of tattoos and generally find it very appealing on a sexy man |

They dont turn me on, I appreciate the art that has gone into them (if done well) or the story behind them.
I wanted a tattoo for ages, got my first one in july, im not ashamed to admit thats its pretty pants but I love it, its the logo of a festival I have been going to since 2010 and I love it and its the only festival I have ever been to so its a little reminder for me for when im too old to go anymore haha.
As for when they start to fade, I will just get them touched up so they look fresh again

I've got a massive back tattoo with a story behind it, same with the tattoo on my arm. I only get tattoo's that mean something to me.
I love tattoo's on men and women, only if they're good mind you.

do you really actively avoid getting something you dont like?
it makes me laugh when people who dont like tattoos get all judgmental about people who do like them. I saw a hilarious page on facebook doing exactly tha saying that all tattooed people were drug addict, HIV ridden, dole dossers.....
I have seen much more hate from non tattooed people against the tattooed than i have the other way round. |

I like tattoos/piercings as a way of self expression but most people do it because their mate has one so they have to get one too! Whole sleeves and themed body tattoos are the worst (Japanese, Indian, tribal). Unless you are a yakuza or come from those places it will be the worst look. |

I did quite enjoy having a beard!
It's not hate, not from me anyway - just boredom I guess more than anything else. It all seems a little contrived is all. That isn't a blanket opinion but it's easy to spot on those it applies.
Just my take on it... |

I've never seen the point of genital piercings! But like my tats - I guess they're not seen by many people.
I've never seen the point of people having plastic surgery. But many do for purely cosmetic reasons.
I've never seen the point in excessive sun worshipping or sun beds just to change the colour of your skin temporarily. It causes skin damage, potential cancer risks and ages prematurely! But millions lie in the sun each year and the sunbed industry is still going strong. They'll be wrinkly and sun spotted long before my ink goes blurry and discoloured.
And don't get me started on those huge tunnel ear things! Why would you want to end up with massive holes in your ears in later life? But many do - and they'll still have massive holes in their ears in later life!
But I sure as hell wouldn't say anyone hasn't the right to do what they want with their bodies, without making judgement over them, deciding it's just a 'fad' without ever knowing their motivation - or even give a fig what the modifications they've made will look like in twenty years time.
When I'm 60 I'm sure my tats will be seen by as many people as they are now - if not fewer. So do I worry about them in old age? Nope.
Not would I ever get 'sick' over someone else's lifestyle choices and preferences. It's their body after all. It doesn't affect anyone else in the slightest!

Well done tattoos are body art. Bad tattos are just, well, bad. They are the ones that people will regret in later years. As for tattoos being sexy, some are, some aren't, depending who they are on usually. |

All tattoos are is colour added to your skin, just permanent!! They have been around for centuries, so definitely not a fad.
People change their hair colour, have it cut short, grow it long, shave it off. Some where make-up, others don't, are we judged for doing that, no!
As for them looking crap when we're older, depends on the style of the tattoo, but to be honest, who cares?? I'm already covered in tiger stripes (stretch marks) and other scars, I have a prosthetic leg, have done for the past 21 years so I'm already 'different' My ink is just another part of me. It's just colour on skin |

always one
It took me years to decide what design I wanted, if I was to follow my friends I would of had names in big writing going down my arm that had been poorly done in someone's house.
I have one the length of leg and a sleeve done on my arm. I am also getting my other arm, some chest, my back, some side and maybe my ass cheeks.
I do it because I like them, my body is my canvass so if others don't like it then tough. My missis has no say in what I have, she will have an opinion obviously but it will make no difference to my choices of my body art.

How would you know if you don't like tattoos? Do you walk into tattoo studios checking out the decor in your spare time?? Lol like the preachers that stand outside sex shops trying to convert the perverts haha
I've never seen it written in any of the studios I've been in,mainly there are pictures of previous work and pieces of art work they have done on the walls. |

Like it when women have the small of their back tattooed, or their feet, don't like to see tattoos on the arms of a woman. Mine were warpaint done 30 years ago and they aren't smudges yet, however, I don't like them and have often regretted it, |

I dig a chick with tatts usually because depending on he size and style it can give an insight to their personality. It doesnt make a lady more attractive per se but it does give you somehing extra to admire.
Just being covered in themn doesnt help attractiveness....you cannae polish a turd, even if you roll it in glitter, its still a turd. Albeit slightly shiney lol |

They are not a pre-requisite, but we do both like them on others.
We do tend to notice unique / different pieces more tho, rather than pattern pieces that you can see 20 times over in one trip to town.

Very true.Like everything,a nice tattoo or 2 can enhance a male or female body.Too much and it looks crap imo. It's pretty subjective tho.On some women a full sleeve looks great,on others, not so... |
