Can't do that I'm afraid.
It's part of the natural cycle that there has to be a Tory government every now and again to sweep up Labours shit.
They are never liked for it, but since when has common sense been popular? |

Dont forget,if its a YES then "Dave" will go down in the history books, as the guy that destroyed Great Britain.
Then people wonder why he was almost in tears when begging for a NO vote. |

"Hope you all vote YES.
I give you 5 years max.
Before you lose all your freebies and introduce major spending cuts"
Yep probably about right, but I really hope they vote no.
I love Scotland and (most of) the Scottish too much to wish this disaster on them. |

"You may be right but that still gives us five years before we are in the same mess as you are in now paying for prescriptions and all other things we take for granted just now."
In 5 years prescription charges will be the least of your worries.
In fact by 10 years down the line I can see (independent) Scotland electing its own Tory government. There will be no choice as Labour and SNP will have spent all the money by then. |

To-days Conservative Party is so far to the right it would cause Churchill not only to cross the floor of the house but to walk past the Lib-Dems and labour and probably join the Greens. Fact is todays Labour Party is more right-wing than the One Nation Conservatism of the Pre Thatcher era and you need to go back to the eara of the Rotten boroughs of the 18th and 19th Centuries to find such unashamedly pro elitist policies being passed by a UK government. |

Look at the Falklands, you can't forget that Maggie sent the troops out to liberate those islands.
Am I the only one who gets pissed off by people slagging off Thatcher with the miners strikes and such, is also insulting the men of the armed forces who lost thier lives protecting us during the troubles and fighting to liberate the Falklands. |

I don't think it will be money spent but huge debts run up. |

None of the large employers in Scotland seem too keen on the idea. I wonder why.

I was 1 of those troops! And I take exception to what you say.
That woman ignored the warnings she was given that scrapping HMS Endurance would lead to the invasion of the Falklands, she ignored the Argentinian scrap men who ignored UK sovereignty months before the invasion and rolled the welcome mat out for the Argies. She then sent an under equipped and for the majority under trained and under protected force to retake the Falklands so she could ride a Churchillian bulldog spirit wave of euphoria to a second term in office.
Bottom line is we were lucky in the Falklands and that woman should have been indited and convicted of treason!
She was a disgrace! |

Hello Noway,
"You may be right but that still gives us five years before we are in the same mess as you are in now paying for prescriptions and all other things we take for granted just now."
Do you still believe in fairies and Santa Claus; nothing is free we all pay for it, and Scotland presently gets a bigger slice of the cake per capita than England, (I think Wales does also?)
Scotland is no different than the rest of the United Kingdom, we all want more but thinking that independence will do that for you in the long term is very misguided. Mr Salmond keeps harping on about decisions made in Westminster, so far away from Scotland but that is another of his smoke screens. The geographical location of parliament is irrelevant, it is the administrative body of the U.K. composed of the M.P.s for the whole country.
Good luck Scotland you'll need it.

I am typical. I get by your tone you think that's a bad thing but never fear! We are educated, driven and politically savvy so we aren't worried. |

I think the government should stop offering concessions to Scotland to vote to remain in the uk. I would prefer to keep us united but not at a cost of Scotland receiving preferential treatment. Have your vote make your decision and live with it. |

What a load of crap......the conservatives have not been a major player in Scottish politics for decades......
It's neck and neck, so whoever edges over the line, the other almost half do not agree.
It isn't about political parties, it's about the future of our country.....more and more huge businesses and banks are declaring they will move there head offices...how is this good for the future of our country?
SNP can rubbish and say it's scaremongering, but all these people are in charge of those businesses, so I would listen to them before I'd listen to a blinkered SNP supporter, who follow a leader who does not give a credible alternative, but rubbishes and ridicules anyone who doesn't agree. |

yet, you choose not to live in the United Kingdom at all?
Whichever way the vote goes, the Scots are going to have a change in their lives they couldn't have imagined only a few years ago.
For all those of you whinging about a possible yes vote, think of all those jobs for England that you'll get as Scotland disintegrates into anarchy, with fighting on the streets, a new border wall with guards and machine guns patrolling between Scotland and England people trying to escape over the border, like in East Germany.
Or, it could turn into a vibrant, mixed economy with a new zest for life and their country.

There are quite a few bonuses for the English should there be a yes vote. Jobs crossing the border? Maybe. The end of the Barnett formula? Certainly. The final answer to the "West Lothian Question"? Of course.
Vibrant economy though? I seriously doubt it. I think a quick peek over the channel at the slow motion train wreck that is the French economy will give a fair idea of where a Socialist Scotland will be heading.
As for choosing not to live in the UK. I was offered a short term job in Spain, met and married a German and it was a lot more convenient for business to live in Germany than in the UK.
Nothing sinister, and nothing that deprives me of my right to an opinion. |

And how did 13 years of Labour government from 1997 onwards under Tony Blair and Gordon Brown work for you in Scotland exactly?
Mass uncontrolled immigration, an illegal war in Iraq, and the gap between rich and poor getting bigger during that time. You need a reality check, Labour governments have a proven track record of spending all the money in the kitty, the tories are needed to fix the economy when Labour inevitably fucks it up!
