We have two cats, and a very large Alsatian. Our black cat has no balls but our ginger one does. Now that the ginger one has grown up the black one has taken to spraying in the house. Also, the dog barks at the black cat but lets the ginger one ride on his back. I conclude that the black cat is therefore a bit stressed. Should we get rid of ginger's furry peas? And those Feliway cat destresser things on tv, do they work?? ![](/icons/s/2/idea.gif) |

Go to a garage that does paint jobs and spray them different colours. Give them different names and hold up a colour chart when you want them to come to you

Feliway works wonders! Maybe the black neutered one is trying to be the alpha cat with the ginger one as it can sense the testosterone... Try getting the ginger one done also. Once the spray they will keep going back to same place so make sure throughly clean and have you tried using the pee deterrent spray?
I'm a bit of a cat woman...
My female kitten would not stop peeing on my bed... She knew where litter tray was just liked the bed... Only thing that stopped it was when I got another cat! Strange creatures!
Good luck ![](/icons/thumb_up.png) |

We had 2 cats 1 that sprayed every where (sounds cruel) but we just rubbed its nose in it,and after a few weeks it stopped doing it... |

Okay, just to clear something up, cat spray isn't actually pee, it's a oily scent used for marking, that is usually a lot stronger in smell. My female cat was a swine for doing bit & she particularly liked doing it on electrical products.
I'm slightly confused why you wouldn't neuter the other cat unless he is a pedigree & you're planning to use him as a stud cat, however that's not what you wanted to discuss. Feliway is a great product, there are also lots of similar products around as well as natural calming medications that might help the situation.
If it's more peeing in the wrong places, make sure you have enough clean litter trays around (1 each, plus 1 is the general rule of thumb) and try cat attract cat little....really does work.
Also when cleaning the area be very thorough, use a specialist cleaning product (pets @ home have them) then spread with a based product or leave lemon peel around. Cats don't like citrus & will prevent from returning to same place.
If it's a recurring thing it's now firmed as a habit & very hard to break, but it patience & kindness it can be broken. I would never recommend the rubbing there nose in it idea.....you could potentially make a stressed cat worse. |
