I am always on the lookout for films for him and just ordered Stormbreaker which is from Anthony Horowitz s books.
Can anyone suggest good 12/12A films please.
Obviously I know of the latest ones but looking for others. I look on the £5 and less ones when in Tesco.... but anyone else suggest good ones. Even if from 10 years ago. I just bought I am number four which I enjoyed.
Suggestions please xx

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound |
It depends what he's into. The 13 year old in my life is watching a lot of deep and meaningfuls with sub-titles.
We went to see Boyhood together (it's a 15 though) and he loved that but it is quite mature in its themes.
Perhaps look back at some of the comedy classics too.

Ghostbusters is currently celebrating it's 30th anniversary. It's been back in cimena's in the states.
Back to the Future turns 30 next year.
If he's not seen it, it will give him some idea of what film makers thought our world would look like now
Hoverboards and Power laces next year |

"I remember watching Porkies and The Wanderers as a kid and thinking I was really lucky for getting to see them.
They'd probably be Disney these days "
The wanderers I loved that film, and the warriors, not films for kids though, wouldn't let my 13 year old watch them |

Star wars, the original trilogy, not the re edited one, never ever let him see the new trilogy!
Indiana Jones, preferably the originals again although crystal skull is watchable.
I watched last of the M ohmic as with my dad when I was in primary school, think he must have forgotten about the burning scene lol
Get a few 15s but watch them first and then watch them with him, opens up a lot more options then and you can decide what your happy for him to see. After all 12 still have swearing and sex references. |

Have you thought about getting him a subscription to Netflex, then setting the parental guidance to PG13. You'll get a list of exactly what he's watching as well.
Jenny xxx"
To be honest I can't afford another subscription. I tend to buy dvds occasionally but thinking of good ones for Christmas etc. |

I know you said films but if he liked the Horowitz books get him the Cherub ones by Muchamore - my 14 year old is tearing through them and there are loads.
Try your son on Jackie Chan films - always a great laugh, and Remo Williams - no-one seems to have heard of it but it is hilarious. And if he knows his SF tropes he'd love Galaxy Quest. |

I know this sounds sad but I was strolling round town on my lunch and I started thinking of this thread... haha next thing I know I am looking at DVDs in WHSmith... haha... I picked up Walter Mitty, forgot about that one, was a real uplifting film when I saw it in the cinema and RIPD is a riot that I'm sure a 13 yr old would enjoy haha |

You say you only buy dvds once in a while. But i gotta admit Netflix is the best 5.99 a month I've ever spent. I did away with sky after I got it. And I have it on ten different devices psi in the lounge and wii in both kids bedrooms as well as phones tablets and even at my dad and brothers house.
Do it you won't regret it. And if you do you can cancel anytime as your not in a contract. I've watched loads of classics with my kids. Stuff like
Robin Hood prince of thieves
the princes bride
drop dead Fred
dungeons and dragons
my science project

Most anime is not pornographic. Much is made for kids. Just check the rating.
And we love cartoon porn here. So much more wicked imagination applied. |

I remember my 13th birthday quite well, I had some mates round. My mum got some videos from the local shop, she told the bloke behind the counter our ages. He only gave her confessions of a window cleaner, the mates all thought my mum was the best as thiers would not allow them to watch that film. |

Thank you, my grandson or son are not allowed cartoon porn, usually known in the UK as Hentai.
I'm sure Studio Ghibli is loved by adults also but it is no way pornographic. |
